I don't know about anyone else, but these oversized avatars, pictures inside threads, and pictures in signature lines are really making messages load slowly on my computer at times. Sad

I'm running a good speed DSL, so I don't know how anyone with a dial up can even read anything on the board.

Please give some thought to either reducing the size of your pictures or eliminating ones that don't go with a post.

It would make things so much smoother. When you respond again and again and it doubles/triples the picture, it's a hassle to read.

D,

I noticed that you had removed your lovely avatar, and wondered why. I now see that you are being part of the solution, and not part of the problem for slowing down the loading (not that yours was particularly contributing to the problem).

I have seen where boards will let a large photo file only stay on a couple of days before the items dragging the system are removed so everybody can see what's going on within a reasonable amount of time, not having to wait so long for posts to load. I love seeing everybody's stuff, but I also appreciate seeing everyone's messages quickly.

I will reduce the size of my avatar.

I'm curious why image sigs are allowed. They're usually banned on boards.

...good points all, DS...here's a cool feature built into Firefox:
you can right-click with your mouse over any image type and one of the menu choices is to block images from the site you're viewing...it's only temporary, you can just as easily reactivate images with another right-click.

I have to say loading times at work can be a bit of a drag. I wish my company would switch to using Firefox! I like using the Adblock plugin where you can block particular images on a site.
