Are you saying that the Mystics were offered Swoopes and the #5 pick for Holdsclaw... or are you just suggesting it?
"The Mystics should have been looking to fill multiple needs and they were actually offered deals which would have done this. Namely:
yada-yada-yada-Tamecka Dixon and DMJ-yada-
yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-
yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-yada-
BINGO!
* Houston Comets - Sheryl Swoopes and the #5 pick."
Please tell me you were just suggesting it.
How could Swoopes be Swoopes knowing the Comets tried to ship her off with a #5 pick and got turned down?
How could the Mystics have taken Milton and #13 and passed on Swoopes and #5. That can't be.
What are all these people smoking?
Tell me it ain't so.

The Mystics were offered Sheryl and the #5 for the Claw.
When I mean alternatives, they were actually offered! Yes, I am in as much shock as you are. |

Jammer, Washington turned down the deal. It was offered (Swoopes and #5). Trust me...the source is good.

I think I'm going to throw up. Keegan I told you to tell me it wasn't so! I'm out of Vicodin!
Poor Her Majesty. She should be screaming for a trade now. Seattle. New York. My hope is that, at the very least, these insults motivate her back to the icy cold efficiency of her past. Remember that expressionless look? I think that on court persona was her way of dealing with the insult of Cooper's presence in Her Royal orbit. The minute Swoopes became Number One in 2000 she started smiling and giving people high fives and it's been all down hill from there.

Beyond the shock of the Swoopes situation... all those trade scenarios that Keegan outlined are shocking in the sense that the Mystics turned them down. All of them.
How in the world could you pass on Dixon for a #13 pick? How many times has that woman pitched poison daggers at my team of WNBA immortals on her way to a title that she should be passed over for a third string (in the draft) college girl? That would have been picking up two-fifths of the starting line up of a dynasty. You're the fucking Mystics, dipshits! Those are the Sparks. What aren't you getting about this personel un-equation? God was this such a soapy Rubic's Cube here because it doesn't look like it should have been to me.
Not to mention the fact that you'd be greatly contributing to the dismantling of the Sparks. Hello!!!
With Milton you get a pillar. With Dixon, a cog. You take a pillar and a cog from something as delicate as a sports (basketball) dynasty and you're nothing but a badly sprained ankle away from not making the playoffs. (See Comets, 2004)
But seriously, why would you trade your superstar player who's won neither a title nor an MVP award for an admittedly great role player coming off an ACL that was handled weirdly from the get go... and choose not to replace your superstar with another superstar... one of the game's marquee names, four time champion, 2 time MVP, pillar of an Olympic dynasty etc. etc. etc. ???
The only comfort here is being secure in the knowledge that some people are even stupider than I am.
Hey-Zeus Christos!!!

What an interesting thought process.
It's good though - you could use a good purge. |
