I'm not sure anyone did.

Feenstra, maybe. Strom showed me something last night. Not sure about anyone else. Irvin hurt hers?

so much of it is exposure, so I think anyone that goes out early hurts their status. Even if they play well in the first round, it hurts when no one gets to see you. Dionnah Jackson is probably in that category. Tanisha Wright and Jess Strom too.

Kraayveld almost certainly helped hers. Wheeler, maybe. Patrice Holmes might have put herself into the draft. Kim Smith. Teamer. Dant.

Feenstra did, because as hoop said, she and her team live to see another day. Liberty doesn't get this far or any further without Katie Feenstra stepping up to have a big game.

Jess Strom might still get drafted in the mid-late rounds, and if not will certainly get a call to join some team's camp. The early exit doesn't help improvement she might have made in her draft position.

Dionnah Jackson and Tanisha Wright will go in the first round no matter what, IMO, because both are 4S (size, speed, strength, skill) in a weak draft class.

You're right about Kraayveld; forgot about her. We didn't get Wheeler's game here, how did Polk look?

Polk looked as if she should have been substituted for Ebony Hoffman in Bluewolf's message board post last year.

Yep, DJ and TW will both be first-rounders. I think what they've lost is their chance to move up into lottery territory (something they may or may not deserve).

I think back to last year with Whalen. Before the tournament, she was probably a late first-rounder. Then she went nuts, won a bunch of games, led her team to the Final Four, became a media darling and a favorite of fans around the country... and then she was all of a sudden a lottery pick in one of the best draft classes ever.

It will be interesting to see who (if anyone) makes that sort of move this year.

Polk looked very much like Jen Gillom in her Spark season.

Hey Cam!

Who do you think the Libs should pick in the 1st round? Last year you were very much into Shameka Christon and alas Blaze must've listened to "Seth's mouthpiece"...LOL!! Couldn't resist that one!!

Still love me?? Smile

dtsnms, I agree with you about Irvin. I think though, McCarville may just have raised her stock a bit.

Feenstra really proved herself to me. MUCH more coordinated than I expected her to be and BUILT! I thought she would be a little scrawny thing. I also loved the way she used the glass.

Cat Kraayeveld is great, and I definitely think that she will get a look from someone (Seattle??? Oh, that would be SO cool!)

How about Patrice Holmes? She kinda put herself on the map with her first round performances the last two years.

And BTW, Kim Smith is a junior, and Polkie has never expressed interest in coming out this year, I thoroughly expect her to play at AZ next year.

Erica (Smith-)Taylor is someone else who was probably hurt by going out early. I was waiting for the tournament to see whether she was really ready to play. I only got to see her for about one half, and that just isn't enough to decide. So I still don't know, and I suspect some W scouts are in the same boat.

What do you mean by "forget about her"? I thought you were agreeing with pilight that she helped herself in the draft.

Ghod, I have some kind of mental block about Smith. I always think she's a senior.

Has Kraayeveld's draft stock dropped after the Baylor loss?

I don't think so, especially since it wasn't on TV, at least on the west coast. She did still have 15 points, though. THat's not bad against that great Baylor frontcourt.

Kim Mulkey-Robertson compared Kraayveld to Larry Bird over the weekend, for what it's worth. Kraayveld is an intriguing player, her best ball may still be ahead of her, she's missed a lot of her college career with multiple injuries. She plays kind of a "European" game for a player her size...a "big wing" if you will. I think she'll be a solid upper second round pick for someone.

I think of her as "slow post with shooting range".

I think she could stick at the end of a WNBA bench but not sure about anything more.

Please. Every white forward who can shoot from three is suddenly Larry Bird.

Just an over-used comparison...

She's just AMAZING! That's really the only word to describe her. She won't be able to score at will in the pros like she can in college, but she'll be great, and I think she'll be an all-star.
