Gonzaga's non-con schedule is virtually the same as North Carolina's. The Tar Heels faced two top 25 RPI teams, as did the Zags. Both had one more from 26-50, both faced two teams in the 51-100 range, both had one in the 101-200 range, and both filled out the remainder with dregs (UNC had three sub-300s to Gonzaga's 2).

Both teams finished 27-3.

I have a hard time with the notion that the ACC is so much better than the WCC that one of them gets a #1 seed while the other goes to the WNIT.

The Bulldogs are a program on the rise. They may have gotten snubbed this year, but I don't see it happening again. Here's an instance of an institution that saw fit to build up its women's program just as it did their men's 10 years ago. They've thrown their resources behind making their women's program a national power. I have ultimate respect for GU and the nice Jesuits who run it.

The selection committee ought to be ashamed. For all the whining about bias in the men's selection process, it's the women's bracket that's smelled.

The committee will know better next year.

The Zags are graduating three starters. They're not likely to come close to 27-3 again, and apparently they would have to do better to get in.
