The Lubbock Hawks have recently made changes to their roster, due to two unfortunate injuries. Kelly Mazzante suffered a concussion after being hit in the face with an elbow during the February 20, 2005, game against the San Jose Spiders. Molly Creamer underwent surgery after a finger injury during the February 25, 2005, game against the Birmingham Power. Mazzante and Creamer will not be returning to finish out the rest of the season.
The Hawks have since added two new players to the roster. Nicky McCrimmon, a 5-8 guard from Harlem, NY, graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994, the same year that she was named to the First Team All-Pac 10 and received Basketball Times Honorable Mention All America. McCrimmon went on to play for the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks in 2000.
Sultra Harding, a 6-2 center from Xenia, Ohio, started playing at Louisiana Tech University and went on to play for Central State University. Harding was rated number five among all junior college players and number two among centers in 2002 by Michael White's All-Star Girls Report while playing in junior college.
