...some interesting numbers on her Big 12 tourney history:
Dionnah has had quite a showing at the Big 12 tourney in her career.
Pulled from the Soonersports.com page:
Dionnah Jackson
• Scored in double digits last night for the 23rd time this year; finished game with 16 points.
• With her six field goals vs. Texas, moved into first place all-time in field goals made in a career (61) by an individual in Big 12 Tournament history. (Previous Leader: Angie Welle, ISU, 99-02, 57 over 12 games) This record will be broken in a year or two, ya think?
• Is first in Big 12 Tournament history in assists in a career (50). And this one as well
• Is second in Big 12 Tournament history with 156 career points in tournament play (over 11 games)
• Is third in Big 12 Tournament history in field goals attempted in a career (122).
• Is fifth in Big 12 Tournament history in rebounds in a career (76) and fourth in defensive rebounds in a career (60).
• Is third in Big 12 Tournament history in block shots in a career (15).
...will she be the first guard drafted? |

Wecker is a guard in the W and will go ahead of her.

I also think Tan White will go ahead of Dionnah. |

I think Dionnah is impressive. For a point guard to lead her team in rebounding and blocks as well as assists and steals... that's pretty cool.
on the other hand, it's hard to evaluate players who play on really bad teams. just as it can also be hard to evaluate players (like Haynie) who play on really good teams.
still, I think Dionnah is good. A great defender, good size for a point guard, good speed. I think she'll be a good Wer.

I don't think Oklahoma qualifies as a really bad team.
I don't want to post too much about Jackson, because historically the more good things I post about a player the less likely it is that Van will draft them.

Dionnah's been in my Top 10 since preseason, but I think the pros will tab not just Tan White and Kendra Wecker, but Penn State's Tanisha Wright ahead of her.

Jackson is quick like a bunny...a real joy to watch. She might have to make her place in the W, but she will be there for a long time. I think she will help any team that drafts her.

First time I paid attention to her was last night. Great quickness. Didn't take over though when they needed her to. That would concern me a little.
