Both teams are 13-12 but both teams (according to Nancy L. and Kara L.) are still under consideration for the NCAA Tournament. Texas Tech is up by 11 (23-12) in the early going. Both teams look undisciplined and scrappy yet the game isn't that bad. However, I'm not watching two tournament teams, as Texas should be 13-14 and Texas Tech should be 14-13 heading into the Big 12 tournament.

IMO, whoever wins today needs to get to the Big 12 Championship Game in the tourney to get into the NCAA.

IMO, if either teams makes it to the tournament, it will be a JOKE.

Nancy's making a strong pitch for Texas Tech.

Tech has a big chance on Tuesday to prove something. A win over Oklahoma and a win over UT today would say a lot. Do that and knock off OU or Baylor in the tournament and you've got to look at them.

I may have just defined "easier said than done".....

What are the chances of Texas Tech defeating Oklahoma next Wednesday? Shocked Um yeah...that's what I thought. Where's the fork? Wink

This win over Texas did little to boost TTU's NCAA chances. All it did was burst Texas' bubble (barring a miracle run through the Big 12 tournament).

Tech only lost by 6 at Norman earlier this year. Granted, the Sooners, for the most part, didn't shoot well that night. Tonight, they did shoot well, and it was easy going against Nebraska.

But emotion is a powerful thing. It will be Tech's Senior Night game, as well as Coach Sharp's last regular season home game, a couple of huge motivators to win. And as an added bonus, they'd give OU their only conference loss this season.

I predict a great game. And, thank heavens, it'll be on tv here in OKC.

Yeah, the chances aren't good. But they played OU close in Norman and you'd expect a sellout crowd in Lubbock to try and ruin OU's perfect season.

The worst thing is part II: even a win over OU in Lubbock wouldn't be enough. They'd need to get at least to the conference finals and pick up another big scalp. The only two for the taking in the Big XII are OU and Baylor, neither of whom would be expected to have too much trouble with Tech.

They just lost too many close games early.

Well, this Sooner fan doesn't think it will be an easy path to win in Lubbock this Wednesday nite.

Marsha Sharps last game to coach at the USA??? It will be huge, and the AD has said 15000 seats may not be enough for everyone that want's to go. Now, OU has been able to win in loud arenas, actually were thriving there for awhile.

This one will be tough to get out with a win though.

Wow. Shocked It sounds as if many of you OU fans would be content with losing to a mediocre team (14-12 with 2 senior All-American candidates is mediocre irregardless of the circumstances). I doubt that Sherri Coale and her girls feel the same way. You see, Oklahoma still has something to play for. They're not guaranteed a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament. Furthermore, there's a such thing as "momentum", a factor that you want to maximize going into the conference and NCAA tournament. Now is the wrong time to lose.

I don't expect a blowout or anything like that, but the chances of Tech winning the game still aren't very good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Texas Tech isn't the #2 team in the country, is it? Confused Also, is Texas Tech/OU a "rivalry game"? Didn't think so.

Losing at this time of year isn't desirable, but at least the loss to UNC isn't a "bad loss". It stings, but it doesn't hurt our chances for a #1 seed. It does, however, set up an intriguing possible rematch in the ACC Tournament finals. OU losing to UNRANKED Texas Tech will drop them down a seed in the NCAA tournament (and a rematch is unlikely).

I'm not content with a loss by any stretch. It's always best to win and I think OU has plenty to play for. I am saying, though, that this will be a more difficult game than Tech's record would indicate. They've given lots of teams a tough time and they know that any hope of an at-large bid, however slight, depends on winning that game.

I wonder what she'll do when Tennessee gets the #1 seed.

The B-12 fans on Hoopscoop.net would go into orbit if "SWMNBN" was named - as coach of the Lady Raiders? I would be one of them.
