...benches her best player for "the rest of the season." What's that amount to, one more game? Didn't Peck lock horns with Vanessa Hayden more than once, also?

I don't know about Peck but I remember Mosby initially verballed to UConn, then rescinded and gave it to LSU but apparently signed a 'surprise' LOI to Florida.

Peck isn't a very good coach. She got lucky at Purdue to inherit an All-Time great guard tandem, have Sue Bird get hurt at UConn, and have Tennessee upset on the other side of the bracket. She hasn't demonstrated any ability to recruit, her eye for talent in the W was nothing short of atrocious, and her entire Florida tenure has been marked by "player issues" like this.
