since i've traded directv for cablevision, i'm a bit lost now. i'm seeing that espn2 is supposed to have a double-header today (is that true?), but tvguide.com says "tba." i thought one of the games was conn@texas. i also thought i saw baylor@okla on fox sports. but then, i also see a slew of games, including vandy@tenn, marked as "ppv." pay per view? women's games? what's going on? whom can i trust?

who knows what's really on tv today?

I am pretty sure that Minnesota/Purdue is ESPN or ESPN2.

Is today ESPN's whip-it day?

Yes, today is whip-it day: depending on where you live, you might see Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan State, UConn vs Texas, LSU, or somebody else. (ESPN and ESPN2 may even be running diff. games simultaneously-- if you're lucky-- I don't know.

Is this the first ESPN is doing this for women's bball?? If so, it's about time.

I believe it's the first time they've done it during the regular season. They've done whiparound coverage during the early rounds of the NCAA tournament before.

Each year they do one day of whip-around coverage. I think it is usually this weekend. Started a few years ago as a way to work out kinks for whipping during the NCAAs.

I hate this whiparound nonsense. Why not carve up the map and show a different game in different regions? I hate having to keep up with 3 and 4 different games.

Any upsets looming large? Texas and Georgia might be the best candidates for the job.

I think they are really trying to push their Full Court package. I don't care for it either, for one thing their whips aren't all that interesting to me, I'm thanking the heavens for ESPNU now. All these games will be shown, or the biggest majority of them over the next day or two. Vandy/Tenn is at 5:30, it's just a delayed broadcast and shouldn't have any whips in it.

Is ESPNU really going to re-air these games? That'd be great.

Well, not all, but Vandy/Tenn at 5:30 pm today, Conn/Tex at 10:45 am Monday, Georgia/LSU at 5:15pm Monday,

O.G. (wherever you are), you've got an ally. Stacey Dales says UNC will roll over Virginia today. She (supposedly) spoke to Sylvia Hatchell, who says her team is ready.

Sorry...hearing Stacey yell that to us has been the most excitement with respect to this "Frenzy". I'm sure Hatchell heard that in Charlottesville.

i like this game plan. the lsu-georgia game is clearly the game to see, and i'm getting it instead of that deadbeat uconn game. it's a great lowest-common-denominator formula, and (most) everybody (but the most hardcore single-team fan) wins.

I was hoping for the Vandy-Tenn game, expecting the ND-DePaul game, but am watching the UNC-Virginia game. Somebody run up the score so St. Louis can be "whipped around"!

Can't pull away when you screw up a 3-on-ZERO break.

OTOH, she says Duke is the best team in the country, as opposed to Lawson who picked UNC. So you see? She's really YOUR ally. Laughing

Blast! Twisted Evil She's trying to conjure up Lieberman-like voodoo!

UNC's blowing Virginia out of the water...7-point game (down from a 15-point halftime lead). Good call, Stacey!
