I posted a few days ago about NY losing 4 starters. Additional predictions: Crystal to the Mystics, VJ to SASS

Actually I`m a big fan of Ruth, so yes..........

Since we have the best "bigs" coach in the business, I would like to see what Marion could do with Snow (or Ruth)

She can do magic. She's Harrianne, after all. Wink

We can only hope for a miracle that Blaze does something to make up for the 4 lost starters. And I'd say Riley is more likely to go to the Libs. Snow will likely stay in Houston.

PG: Teasley/Moore
SG: Hammon/Thorn(?) or draft pick-2nd round
SF: Christon/??
PF: Jones/Kraayeveld
C: Riley/draft pick-1st round

Libs lose: Wauters, Baranova, Robinson, Johnson & Frett.

A young team, not championship material but maybe in 2 years when they can build up there bench.

Not that I impugn the honor of insiders, but Crystal-to-DC is now official, according to Matt Wurst's blog. Kraayeveld's also got a new deal (something, one hopes, a smidgen above minimum). And Ashley Battle to training camp. Because, of course, we really needed a player who can't score. Jesus H. Christ on a pogo stick, Becky and Shameka'll average 20 each... and the Liberty offense will average 50.

Oh, and put away the alternate universe Sales jerseys.

wow. yup, there it is on the transactions page. but, um, where's that bouyant new york liberty e-mail announcing it? will LFO just act like it didn't happen?

nothing will surprise me when we see what our starting lineup is. what will surprise me is who's sitting in the stands when they play.

I'm sorry to see Crystal go...Too bad she didn't got to a western Conf. team so she could only hurt us two times a season....

Signing Battle is a good move. She's strong defensively and athletic on the break. If she makes the squad, she'll keep things aggressive at practice and off the bench.

She's not going to be a starter, but she can fill a role.

Ashley Battle has improved her offense, she is playing well in Spain (I know it's not the W).

That's the shit! We don't want to fucking re-build! We've been rebuilding for 10 fucking years! We need instant gratification and unless we sign a major fucking star, we're lucky to get 4th place in the stands!

Damn, there goes 50% of our D. If VJ signs elsewhere, we have NO FUCKING DEFENSE!!! Becky will jack up 50 shots a game, get 25 points, while the rest of the team combines for 10 more pts! URGH!! I'm so annoyed right now!

Way to go FFO! Way to leave everyone and their fucking mother go elsewhere!

Losing VJ hurts IMO...but I think losing CRob is definately a blessing--she was awful last year...now Meka gets to start. If the libs can get a solid PG and move Hammon to the 2, their scoring will increase...granted they'll lose some defensively, but hopefully they can make up for that inside...because Nova and Wauters didnt defend anybody last year.

it does seem that the liberty are always "on their way" and never go anywhere. i agree in theory that we need to rebuilt. duh - who didn't know that two, three years ago? but if it'd been started when it should have, gradually, we might actually be somewhere by now. instead, everyone gets thrown overboard at once, and to hell with the concept that fans need players they care about, players they can embrace, that both liberty and fans need some kind of continuity. sorry (and with respect to the baby), but becky and christon ain't gonna get it. there's nothing wrong with keeping vj a bit longer. she can hang and, from this admittedly outside view, she has been all good for the liberty and liberty fans. apparently, the LFO philosophy is "all or nothing, so we can be middling." why, oh, why are we always treading water in the middle of the lake? why does this feel like the rebuilding of my beloved 49ers? (you can see what that got them.)

pilight said something i thought was hilarious at the time: "pot, meet kettle." not as poetic, but today i say: baby, meet bathwater.

I don't have a problem with VJ and C-Rob leaving, though C-Rob could have stayed one more year (as Meka's backup). I'm ready for the new Liberty, I welcome the change.

You could point, squint, and ask, "I'm sorry, but who are you?" Or if someone takes a number that belonged to a former Lib, "Wow, *insert name here*, you look different." But I'm a snarky bitch.

Save me a seat n ext to you will ya??? Unless we get a REALLY good player via whatever way possible, I'm NOT going to be happy with this team!

Rebuilding is one thing, a fire sale is another! Ask the Marlins yo!

Let FFO call me "slow" one more time! Hell, let her LOOK at me funny! I'll bust a cap on her!!! I HATE FFO RIGHT NOW!

Good luck to C-Rob and I'll be rooting for her just like I will still root for Tari in whatever team she goes to (even LA).

I don't usually post much during the offseason until Blaze starts doing her thing. I had to change the avatar since I would love for it to be #11, but even if it's not her, there better be a new gm in '07 after this mess that's only in its beginning stages.

this has got to be tremendous news for loree moore. she's gonna look downright brilliant up against (fill-in-the-blank).

so who wants to complete this sentence (with reasonable answers)?

the only new player(s) i'd be happy to see on the liberty roster this season are . . .

I don't know, man. Who's left in the pool for '07? Ann if she comes back? If Becky doesn't leap tall buildings in a single bound and walk on water, '08 might be FOAV year for Shameka, not Becky.

I think Becky is next on the list with the most seniority Shocked

Well you know what that means. I say 2008.

I don't know, man. Who's left in the pool for '07? Ann if she comes back? If Becky doesn't leap tall buildings in a single bound and walk on water, '08 might be FOAV year for Shameka, not Becky.

I hope Blaze is next in the pool. Better yet the ocean. Becky is already screwed this year. Isn't Shameka up for a deal after this season? Ann's not coming back? Can someone interrupt James Dolan from his blues tour and tell him he's got a GM to fire? He could make it a fire one, fire the other free deal if he'd like.

Meka is up in 2 yrs...the 4th year of a rookie deal is a team option which the Libs picked up last year.

I see. Thanks for the info. Since Blaze likes to do 2 a year, maybe Becky and Shameka will leave together then.

Haha.

I don't agree with the way the VJ thing was handled, although my source tells me that the Libs wanted her back, but she chose to move on.

Didn't hear anything about CRob--but IMO, it's in the best interest of the team to let her go. Same thing with Nova, IMO. Kraayveld is better now. Nova was great when she was younger, but she's on the backend of her career. The Libs need youth and toughness up front.

Losing Ann sucks if that's true and I dont know how the hell you can replace the numbers she put up.

Hopefully they get younger and more athletic and bigger.

With the track record there..they might just suck and try to get Davenport in next years draft....

Thoughts?
