Nice for Purdue; UConn doesn't pass LSU huh? They shouldn't but I thought our "East Coast Bias" would come into play. And Rutgers loses to Temple and is Top 10?

What does St. John's have to do to crack the Top 25? I know the schedule hasn't been the toughest overall, but 3 losses - to Marquette in Milwaukee and to Duke and UConn. That's it, plus wins over Villanova and Cincinnati.
Then you look at all these 5 and 6 loss teams ahead of them, and, well, come on, let's see some new blood! Notre Dame? Vanderbilt? Va Tech?
Let's see some Red Storm love!

Wow. I thought the Top 25 was supposed to reflect the best 25 teams in Division I. You mean to tell me that Boston College would still be ranked had it not been for the Miami loss?

My overranked team of the week?
Baylor!
They have done nothing this year and have ridden their title last year into the Top 10 all season.

St. John's would've gotten in this week had it not been for Florida defeating Vanderbilt. Southern Cal was going to get in regardless (5 game winning streak). The Red Storm has a decent RPI and solid record, so I'm unsure why they're not in.

Nice to see Southern California back in the top 25. ASU has a series of bad road losses and still is ranked ahead of us? Hmmm...............

Im still kind of shocked that the Illini arent recieving votes. Are we really worse than Marquette?
Stanford ranked ABOVE Depaul and Oklahoma is just crazy.
1 Big Ten/SEC/ACC win= 3 Pac 10 wins

Well, I'd guess that the relative (if not total, in most areas) lack of television exposure has hurt the Red Storm. Since I was at Northwestern's Welsh-Ryan Arena for the tournament won by St. John's in December, I've had Kim Barnes Arico's charges on my radar for most of the season. After what should be an easy triumph at Providence Wednesday, St. John's returns to New York for a Saturday date with West Virginia at Madison Square Garden, then visits Rutgers on February 1. A good showing (if one is forthcoming) against the Scarlet Knights should open some eyes, and a win in Piscataway (coupled with a voctory over visiting South Florida the following Sunday) would almost surely get Angela Clark and her teammates into the Top 25 polls that matter.
In the meantime, you can see that Kia Wright and company appear on my list for this week (my ranking from 1/16 in parentheses):
1. Duke (1)
2. Tennessee (2)
3. North Carolina (4)
4. Connecticut (6)
5. Louisiana State (3)
6. Maryland (7)
7. Ohio State (9)
8. Purdue (11)
9. Rutgers (5)
10. Oklahoma (13)
11. Baylor (10)
12. DePaul (eighth)
13. Minnesota (14)
14. Stanford (17)
15. Georgia (12)
16. New Mexico (eighteenth)
17. Brigham Young (19)
18. Michigan State (16)
19. Florida (22)
20. Arizona State (15)
21. Temple (unranked)
22. North Carolina State (20)
23. Virginia (out of poll)
24. St. John's (just missed)
25. George Washington (24)
Dropped out: Kentucky (21), Virginia Tech (23),
Vanderbilt (25)
Games attended: Purdue-Penn State, Purdue-Illinois
Other games seen: Connecticut-LSU, Marquette-West
Virginia, Southern California-UCLA, Texas Tech-Nebraska |

Dude! You forgot the biggest Red Storm win of the season! Notre Dame! Plus only losing to UConn by 17!
What they need to do is whip someone's behind on the road. The big wins have come in New York. i'm not expecting one in Piscataway. (That game is giving me a red, black, and white headache, sheesh.) If they can pull out the DePaul game on February 18th, then that's another story.
If they go into the polls, I think my mom would turn into a squealing fangirl, and that's... um, scary.
