this can be the official thread (or not), but i just wanted to plead with everyone to NOT post the score, or how the game is going, in the subject field. i have to work tonight and wanna be surprised when i get home to watch the game. but i also wanna be able to check here and find out about the other games going on tonight. you get the drift.

if you could do that, it would be most appreciated. thanks.

I just want to see her show up and be a star in a big game. She's been really good before, but where's the superstar performance been?

If she doesn't dunk, I'm not sure anyone would notice if she does have a big game. I remember a couple of weeks ago one of the announcers saying she always seems to have quiet games until you check out the box score and see she had a double-double.

But I agree, I would love to see her open it up tonight and put on a big show capped with any kind of dunk.

As someone rooting for Duke, I would like to see her held to 4 points.

But that's just me.

I'd like to see CP put up 30, and lose!

Go Duke!!!

(I can't believe how much I've changed in the last few years. I blame Cam).

The matchup I'm looking forward to: Alexis Hornbuckle vs. Lindsey Harding.

He's part of it, but this isn't the old Duke teams that were easy to dislike. In fact, with the chest bumping, and flexing, I'm finding it easier and easier to dislike this UT team.

Who do you think will match up against CP3. Will Mo and CP3 be on each other. That would be a good matchup. Would love to see CP3 post her up and score on her all night long.

I thought it was just me DTS!! That really annoys me. But not even the dreaded chest-bumping, muscle flexing of UT can make me root for Duke.

*looks around and whispers*

go vols!

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. Laughing

I'm with you BBALL. I think this match up will tell the difference in the game. The guard who wins this battle (team will win). Rebounding will also be a big factor. Monique tends to not be great in the big games. I think Tenn has the edge.

?

In 2003-2004, Monique had great games against UConn, Tennessee, and in the NCAAs. Last year, she had a very bad game in the loss to LSU...but after playing so many minutes with only 8 players on the team, she was worn down. In her freshman season, she put up 30 points and 14 rebounds as Duke stormed back from 12 points down in the second half to beat UNC in the ACC Tournament final.

At Duke, the person with the "rep" for not showing up in big games was Iciss Tillis.

The sneaker is at home. The pictures of me with Dani and Diana are in the office.

Oh, and the poster for Dani is in my office...along with Snell's signed jersey for Keegan, a signed Penny t-shirt for Hellcat, stuff for Herrade, etc.

That'd be cool so long as Tennessee loses the game. Smile Seems to me that she'll dunk way before Fowles, who probably won't dunk (at least not in a meaningful game).

Gotta talk to your boss; must be getting tough to work in that office with all that clutter. Probably would get more billable hours if you'd MAIL THE STUFF OUT!

who will win is the poll question on ESPN. Duke getting no love, 73% picking UT to win.

It won't win without the Shereka jersey.

The signed Shereka jersey is in my house...still have to have it framed. I guess I will have to get Matty one next summer, since everyone else on the board is getting something from me.

Or can I just pay with nature's credit card?

Well, I won't spoil it for you, but you never know how you may unwillingly find out. Yesterday the BOILER NET took a bus trip to the Illinois game, and the driver announced that he was taping the Pittsburgh-Denver AFC Championship game and would thus appreciate not hearing any updates. Well, we cooperated, but our party then entered the Beef House for what turned out to be a celebratory post-game repast. There were several televisions in the restaurant -- all tuned to football -- and the poor driver couldn't escape the news!

As for tonight's game, I'm not particularly a fan of either program, but I've had Duke #1 in my poll since before the season. Thus, I'm hoping the Blue Devils vindicate my belief that they are the top team in the country. I'll predict a 78-73 triumph over the Lady Vols.
