I didn't realize that Illinois was 12-5 overall and 4-2 in conference. Purdue had better mind their game today, or they may be going home with a loss.

yep, Illinois is starting to raise some eyebrows around the conference.

I, however, remain unconvinced, and I don't think Purdue has anything to worry about. Illinois's win over Oklahoma was impressive, but other than that, they haven't done much. They played a really easy nonconference schdule. They've played only two Big Ten games against good teams (Iowa, MSU), and they lost both.

Their next five games are: Purdue, Indiana, OSU, Minnesota, MSU. Frankly, I'd be really surprised if they won three of those, and I'd even be a little surprised if they won two.

If Illinois can go 3-5 in the next 5 games, i'd be more than happy. Illinois' defense will surprise people. And when they have their offensive game on as well, its scary. I would classify them beating Wisconsin by a lot at Madison as a big win. Any Big Ten road win is a big one.

I wouldn't. The margin of victory was impressive, but Wisconsin sucks. Lots of people thought that the Badgers and Jolene were gonna have a break-through year, but they've been a major disappointment.

They're 6-12 overall and 1-6 in the B10. They don't have a single quality win this year (unless you count Hawaii). They don't even have a chance at the NIT.

To clarify: I don't think Illinois is bad. I just don't know yet. They might be pretty good and an actual contender for a tournament bid, or they might still be where they've been. We'll know after the next 5 games.

MSU needs to win today. I look at this as a statement game today. I've noticed they've struggled against the ranked teams. They got to bring it tonight, especially on the inside to challenge Davenport. If this game goes anything like it did last season when the two teams met at MSU, this should be a great one, because last season's contest was a thriller.

Michigan St is doing a horrible job on Davenport. She's dominated the second-half and McCallie hasn't made an adjustment.
