I predict that she will declare for the draft.

Ok, Michel de Nostredame(Nostradamus)... I didn't expect her to stay in school long, because she's always struggled to make the grades. I her case, she should leave if she can.

It appears Cappie will stay. So...I believe Keegan's mock draft needs to be refined.

Really? She said she's staying? I'm shocked.

Here's another story on it, in which Keegan is a scouting service!

I sincerely hope they're not referring to me Laughing

Anyways I shall have a new mock draft out soon enough. If Currie declares she's not coming out, the Merc should trade the #3 ASAP.

Anyone who wants it!

This draft is quite useless for the Mercury with no Pondexter and Currie (if she chooses not to come out). Lyttle and Polk (if she comes out) aren't worth the #3.

It seems to me that teams are a little stingent when it comes to trading post players. Honestly, I think the teams know that if they give Phoenix a strong post presence, it will be difficult to stop the Mercury if the Big 3 are kept together.

I'm willing to dangle Veal (surprise!) as additional trade bait. She's got the potential to be a good PG and is on a relatively cheap contract. Veal and #3 to Minnesota for Hayden?

That would work...but I don't think Minnesota is willing to trade Crying or Very sad . There aren't that many post players that Phoenix can go after. They can go after Michelle Snow, I suppose.

Minnesota's loss. Interior depth is nice and well but you need decent guard play as well. Hinging everything on Harrower isn't exactly a smart plan IMHO. They could pick up another nice guard/wing at #3 - Tan White for the speed?

Now that I think about it...they wouldn't be giving up that much. They could sure up their guard play, Phoenix could sure up their post play, and then...two teams in championship contention.

Sorry, you just can't. I think SMS feels the same way (then again, I thought she wouldn't trade Darling).

You can have Tamika Williams for the #3 pick if you want-- the Lynx can take McCarville with that pick and then get the 1 guard we actually need with the later pick we have anyway. (Cue long explanation of why McCarville will never work as a 5, followed by explanations of why she needs to play the 4 alongside true pro bigs to reach her pro potential. True pro bigs like BigV and Nicole,if they reach their potential. Not that McCarville will happen here, but you brought the trade idea up...not me.)

I don't believe Minnesota is "hinging everything on Harrower." Why give up one of the "Big 3" inside to help Phoenix? No need to trade. Between Harrower, Jacobs, Martinez, and with Katie Smith coming back, the backcourt that went into the playoffs gets a substantial upgrade.

Also remember, that the Lynx are getting a healthy Vanessa who averaged 18 and 13 overseas (I know its not the WNBA, but at least she showed she has the capability).

I don't think Jacobs or Martinez should be playing significant minutes.

Minnesota played its best ball of the season with Smith starting at the 3 spot.

Obviously you were not watching very closely last season when Minnesota had its best stretch. As much as "T" has done for the women's basketball, starting her was a gift. When Svet came back to full strength in July, as well as Lassiter filling in minutes at the wing, Minnesota played its best ball, just usually not at the beginning of the game. Darling is not a great starter, and Jacobs outplayed her in many games. The Lynx will be greatly improved with Katie back and probably playing the 2.

Don't discount the possibility of Indiana taking Batteast at #2...

I was thinking about that. Not really what they need but Indy's done stranger things...
