Kentucky wins, 80-65. Jennifer Humphrey has 19 rebounds and Jenny Pfeiffer scores 23 off the bench on 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range.

Florida might not be an elite team, but this ranks as one of Mickie DeMoss' biggest wins at Kentucky, especially considering it came on the road. She's still got a young team, and they got a similarly impressive win last year against Georgia and then went in a tailspin, so we'll see. Impressive for them to win down there, on the road, with so many young players, though. Perhaps they're finally starting to turn the corner in Lexington.

Between that result and the scrap Tech put up against Duke, I'm really geeked for that GA Tech/Kentucky game this weekend.

I live in Lexington and regularly go to UK games. They have two post players in Eleia Roddy (off the bench) and Jennifer Humphrey who can really crash the boards, but unfortunately neither one of them can make a layup to save their lives most of the time. Sarah Elliott is the starting center and she is more of a finesse player, and gets into foul trouble.

UK is a pretty good three-point shooting team, and they can do some damage there. Carly Ormerod and especially Jenny Pfeiffer are the guns from three. Ormerod is doing a really nice job of running the team as a freshman PG, and really the only true PG on the team.

Sam Mahoney has a nice mid-range game, and is really the only player on the team who can create her own shot. She'll shoot some threes too, but they only go in occasionally.
