Poor Ducks missed two potential game winners in the last nine seconds.

The Sun Devils (13-3, 4-2) shot 13.9 percent (5-of-36) in the second half.

14 points in the 2nd half, that explains that, that was why I was questioning the score.

Coach Turner Thorne said after the game she'd bet her house that the Devils wouldn't shot that poorly again this season. It's a nice house anyone want to take her up on the offer Wink

It was a painful game to watch (I have a tape of it if anyone is into torture Shocked ) but Emily Westerburg came through for the Devils with a 3 at the end and the defense, ASU's strong point, kept the Ducks from scoring in the last 8 seconds.

Looks like ASU's defense kept Oregon from scoring for a lot longer than eight seconds.

If I remember correctly, Oregon didn't score in the last 3 minutes of the game.

It's probably at least partially due to flying Sun Devil elbows, hacks, hits and the like. They play mean.

huh? The devils play mean?
You must be thinking of some other devils cause I sit courtside and have watched them extensively for 5 years now and I know they play good defense but I wouldn't even go so far as to call them a physical team.
Their posts are not all that big, and mean? Hardly

It's what I noticed on Jan. 6 when Kink and I went to see them play USC. They were physical, aggressive and sometimes thuggy - not LA Sparks thuggy, but just really really physical. They do have Kristen Thompson, who was suspended for a number of games last spring at her Washington state high school for fighting on the court.
But hey, maybe the Devils were just aggressive that day. And these things are a matter of interpretation, when you come right down to it.

I'll certainly agree with aggressive, but 'mean'? They are 7th in the Pac-10
in PF and avg 2 PF less than there opponents per game. I'd expect some
meanness to reflect itself thruthinessly in PFs some how.

And KT? KT's a freshmen who averages less than 10 min/game. I just
don't see her defining the team's meanlyness whatever she did in HS.

Code:

Team           Games     PF    OppPF    PF/G  OppPF/G    Diff
UCLA              16    331     319     20.69   19.94    0.75
