It's raining 3's as ISt goes on a 12-0 run (5-7 3pts) and leads 20-13 late in the 1st period.

Tara needs to get Lepolo off the court. She can’t handle Emily Ryan.

Y’all can be as gaga as you want over Audi Crooks. I’m not. She can shoot and she can shove but she can’t jump and she can’t move and she’s slow. I much prefer a freshman center like Clara Strack of VA Tech if it’s all the same.

Stanford is in trouble! Brink with 4 fouls and Iriafen has three.

What's up with the slick floor on that end of the court?

Crooks can be blocked because she CAN’T jump. Iriafen has blocked her how many times now?

Big rebound by Kiki.

Stanford had better do it now, because I don't think they can survive an overtime.

I didn't think Stanford could hang on.

Kiki was amazing!!

Brink was not.

Thrilled to see Tara switch to Nunu in the second half on Ryan. Ryan was still successful, but her vision and activity seemed to be altered just enough to give Stanford the opening. Congrats to Nunu for handling such a big challenge so well.

We don’t often get two strong games from Hannah Jump in a row - and she was mostly useless on defense - but she has stamina to stay effective and made a big shot at the beginning of OT.

Brooke staying confident to shoot was huge. You never know if she will maintain that confidence, and she really doesn’t have much offensive range in terms of options, but she can hit the three.

The best thing for Stanford was Brink fouling out. This is not always the case, but tonight it was. She’s an insane defender, but boy can her decision making go in the shitter.

Meanwhile, Kiki showed that anyone thinking Stanford will be an easy game next year better think again. What a freaking stud. Chiney called her Aja-light. I honestly can see it. The mid range jumper, the fierce first step on the drive, the range of ways to finish, and tonight she showed a killer instinct. While she missed the shot to win in regulation, her head stayed on tight and she was pivotal to the win.

Just barely over Emily Ryan, she was the best player on the court tonight.

On the Iowa State side, this is a really well rounded team. If Emily Ryan returns, they will be scary next year.

You could go round and round about Audi, but there’s few posts as good as what she faced all night tonight. She is in a position where her frame allows her so much, and it will be up to her to see what more she can capture. Definite Courtney Paris vibes. Intended entirely as a compliment, but also with a clear mission in front of her if she wants to achieve even bigger things. Courtney Paris was such a pleasure from a fan stand point. Audi just makes me want to believe.

Addy Brown sent a reminder tonight that she is yet another awesome freshman and I can’t wait to see how she develops.

Close all game as black flies in the arctic until the last 11 seconds.

Iriafen takes 30 of the Cardinal's 71 field goals (42%), makes 16 of their 33 baskets (48%), and scores 41 of their 87 points (47%). Brilliant game for ISU's Emily Ryan (12-21, 6-9, 6-6, 9r, 4a, 2b), but counteracted by her 10 damaging turnovers. Brink and Crooks failed their hype badly.

Heartbreaking loss for the underdog Cyclones.

And Brinks was struggling against Crooks but Cardindal hung tough. 😎

Odd game, in so many ways. But it DEFINiTELY gave us what we hope for: an exciting game, with lots of talent. I'll reiterate what I said earlier: the refs were just shitty. Not 100% of the game, but that 38% of the time when they were calling non-fouls, and overlooking others. Result: Key players in foul trouble, a 'different' game than what was expected *on paper*.

Obviously, BOTH teams worked through that and kept it competitive. Kudos to Emily Ryan for putting out a career night for herself, even in the loss. She was the heart and soul of The Cyclones tonight. I hope she DOES stay another year.

Audi is....Audi. She's a chubbier Courtney Paris, with an occasional 3-ball. With her skill set, some improved conditioning and continued quality coaching, she should be a total force for Bill's future teams.

And then, there was Stanford. I don't know when I've ever seen Cameron so *taken out* of a game. I remember she had a similarly lackluster game agains Utah, who has a post (Pili) that most resembles Crooks in form. Why might it be such a challenge for Cameron to go inside, elevate (easily) over Audi, and release a nice jump shot over head. Just puzzles me.

Hannah Jump is another one: if you wear the Crown for Most 3s Ever in Stanford history, you should probably TAKE MORE OF THEM. She seems so 'beneath the radar' during a game, you'd hardly know she's there, sometimes.

Anyways. Great entertainment value, all around. And that portion of my bracket is still intact. Cool

Brink cursing at the refs on her way out after her 5th foul was a bad look

If Crooks cannot jump (she can't, just watch a repeat of the game) and cannot run (she also can't) she's gonna be a bust eventually. Also her knees will give out. She really needs to drop 30. She CAN be guarded.Stanford proved that tonight. The problem was that while they were guarded Crooks, they let Emily Ryan run loose. You have to contain them both.
