22 schools got both their men's and women's teams to the big dance. Who's most likely to take both titles?

Alabama
Arizona
Auburn
Baylor
Colorado
Connecticut
Creighton
Drake
Duke
Gonzaga
Iowa State
Kansas
Marquette
Michigan State
NC State
Nebraska
North Carolina
South Carolina
South Dakota State
Tennessee
Texas
Texas A&M

I mean..UConn. And ironically, because of the Men. The UConn men have been dominant this season, though nothing is a guarantee, they are almost worth taking over the field.

The UConn women are good enough to win it all if things go right for them. They’ll need a lot to go right..but less so than other team.

South Carolina is the only other real option, imo. I don’t see the men getting the job done though.

Tbh, I think it’s most likely we see a South Carolina Women’s champ, and UConn men champ.

UConn is the most likely to win both, but not very likely.

It might be more interesting to award points to each team for reaching each stage of the tournament: 1 point for making the round of 64 up to 7 points for winning the title. Then add the men's and women's team points. I'll guess UConn gets 11 points.

prior to the injury-riddled season, us uconn fans thought it was a realistic chance; it happened previously in 2004, 2014...

So 2024 would follow that pattern.

Oh dang, putting all of my money on UConn now. Shocked

In all seriousness, I do think the women's team is being a bit slept on. I know they are banged up, but they are quite simply playing better basketball the last 15 games or so than they were earlier in the season. Their defense will keep them in any game and they have one of the few players in the nation that can pretty much will her way to a bucket when her team needs it in Paige. Gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out.

The UConn women got a pretty favorable bracket, IMO. Syracuse isn't beating them in Storrs. Ohio State is a weak #2 and the Hussies will be extra motivated to beat them after last year's tournament. USC is talented but hasn't been on a big stage like this.

Michigan St., Drake, and Texas A&M women lost today, so the field is winnowed.

The men's loss by South Carolina put a major dent in the probability of dual championships

The round of 32 has been tough on this group. Only four left -- assuming Gonzaga holds on.

I feel bad for fans of both the men and the women at NC State with Friday tip off times:

Men NC state 7:09 Women 7:30

A bit easier for Gonzaga fans

Men Gonzaga 7:39 Women 10:00

Duke men play Friday and the women play Saturday so no problem

UConn men play Thursday in the women Saturday so no problem (unless UConn men win Thursday, in which case as a potential conflict depending on the time for the Saturday game.

NC State fans had to deal with both games playing at the same time; I think they ended within seconds of each other, but they'll take it. NC state wouldn't have been my guess for one of the fews teams left with both.

NC State men make the Final Four as an 11 seed, and their women beat 1 seed Texas to make the women's FF.

With their men in the FF, can the UConn women beat USC tomorrow to match that? It's possible, but for some reason lots of analytics have UConn rated much higher than many people's eyeballs, which have watched UConn lose to every top team they've played (NCST, Texas, UCLA, Notre Dame, SCar).

If you had told me that only one school would get both teams in (and it still might be two, granted), I'm not sure NC State would have been in the first 10 I would have picked. The men's success is a pretty good reflection of why this time is called madness.

With the UConn men winning a record 12 straight tournament games by double digits, I think we have to ask the question: Are the UConn Men bad for men’s basketball? Laughing
