I may have missed the memo but the WNBA app is now available on the Amazon Fire tv.

So nice to not have to cast it to my TV from my phone or tablet.

I can see Cloud playing her AU game with the Mercury.

Get ready for touch down passes!

Will any of the unsigned players get a WNBA call

Cole? Bulgak? Cooper? S. Holmes? Mulgrow?

Also has anyone signed Simc yet? Is Plaisance open up returning?

Really a shame that I find their broadcasts so unbearable that I've barely watched any of these games despite most of them being on League Pass. When you're using the same crew for every single game and I can't stand them, I'm not going to spend much time watching your product.

Ignore them or turn your sound off. You are missing some good balling.

Yes, I'm hoping a few of the players get a serious look from the league. I didn't realize that Odyssey wasn't still with the Wings until they mentioned it on the broadcast. One of the things that was so exciting about the 1st year of AU was seeing the amount of euphoria, rejuvenation and camaraderie so many W players seemed to feel being there, and then also seeing unsigned players get training camp opportunities. Taj Cole was one of the ones who looked like she had a great chance back then. Three years in, only W players seem to really be benefitting from the visibility there: Some who were on 1 year contracts the previous season were picked up. Some got to hone and display more of their skill, resulting in more playing time or greater roles in the W. However, those with no W experience haven't successfully made the leap just yet and I truly hope they do soon. Air, Adut Bulgak and Sequoia Holmes have looked really good out there!

It's... fine. I've watched enough to know what I'm missing. The problem with turning the sound off is that then my attention tends to drift. I also think the lack of real teams destroys an important element of the game and the interest. There's no differing identities or styles, and no meaningful chemistry. It's interesting as an experiment, but ultimately I think the things AU does differently largely make the product worse.

I'd probably still be watching some occasional games if their broadcasts didn't make my ears bleed, though.

Great culmination to the AU season! Allisha Gray was the far and away winner and set the point total record for the history of the league! Odyssey snuck into the number 2 spot (surpassing Kirsten Bell) in the final game. Emily Ingsler was the DPOY and Tiffany Mitchel was the new comer of the year! Great to see Izzy, Lexie Brown and Angel McCoughtry back on the court after sickness/injury. Lexie told a bit of her story here:

You truly never know what someone is going through.

It will be interesting to see what translates to the W and if we get any new pick ups because a few definitely deserve a look!

I found myself so impressed by the broad level of camaraderie at AU. Of course there are clear great established relationships and some star personalities as well. But by and large this looked to be a group of ladies who would push each other, congratulate each other, and also just flat out befriend each other. It’s really a neat program.

What I like about AU: the point system.

Because each player can lose points for bad plays it trains them to be more selective, to think before jacking the ball up or passing into a group of defenders.

Great preseason prep for the W, both for signed players and those hoping to making a training camp. The W gms scout the AU.
