Minnesota 69 to Indiana 64 final
Broback had 26 points and 9 rebounds tonight, I think she broke her recorded.
They managed to get 30 points from are bench players tonight and leading the way and mostly because of Kelly Roysland with 19 points. she hit 3 of her 4 3's tonight. |

Cyndi Valentin, Indiana, tied the NCAA Div I consecutive FT record tonight with 60. I hate to admit it but I wanted her to make em. This girl has put up points night after night in the Big_10, many times when she was the only player opponents have to worry about.
Congrats to Cyndi... |

Congrats to Valentin. Very impressive.
Adrienne Squire was giving her a run for her money until missing her first one of her career this weekend. She is now 60 of 61 for her career.

Oh it wasn’t Broback who made or broke her record tonight? I thought it was but I wasn’t quite sure because of the wcco audio feed that always cuts in and out. I did mange to get some of the halftime interview with Hannah Garry and her a guitar buying today.
Yes, congrat to Cyndi |

Michigan State in Trouble, 4 pts down a minute, 20 sec'c left, Iowa has the ball. Lose this one, Purdue and Minny are playing for the Big_10 lead on Thursday. |

I wish the Gophs-Hoosier game had been televised. Exciting game that stayed close to the end (after the Gophs gave up a 12-point first-half lead). OTOH if the Gophers could defend the fast break a bit better, they would have led comfortably for the last 8 minutes. And it's never good to get into a free-throw contest with Indiana. (Not even after Indy's anomalous game vs. Purdue.)
To judge by tonight's broadcast (and it's always hard to judge from a radio broadcast) Indy is still a defense-first team that uses the whole shot clock and loves to get to the line, much as they were under Bennett: they're just better at it. Whether that's Versyp's coaching or DeMuth's return, you be the judge. I'll go with "both."
Both teams had trouble taking care of the ball: both sides' runs (Minnesota late in the first half, Indy from one left in the first to about 16:00 in the second) included multiple turnovers from the other team.
Roysland has always had an attack-the-basket mentality, but she's getting more out of it this season than she has before, because she's less likely to commit silly fouls (on either end). She's really improved.
Valentin is smart and gutsy. I wouldn't draft her, but I'd like to see her at draft camp.
As for Broback: welcome back.
