As much as I would like someone to set Tartamella's chair on fire, with or without him in it, he did make the tournament last season and just received a contract extension.

I won't be surprised that Kansas has higher expectations, but they did win the WNIT last season. Several teams have spring boarded off that result, such as South Florida, Indiana and Arizona. That may all be happenstance but we will see soon enough.

If he immediately falls back into oblivion when Jackson/Kersgeiter/Franklin leave, then he will be on the hot seat. But that class saved him from getting fired and have likely earned him a year or two to see if he can replicate it.

Who cares about the WNIT? A berth to the WNIT every year isn't going to save jobs.

If you're talking about the Kansas example, there's a difference between just getting a berth to the WNIT and winning the whole thing.

If you're speaking more generally... maybe in men's basketball, making the NIT isn't enough. But in women's basketball? Unfortunately, the standards are lower.

Can probably add this one to the list. Her husband is one of her assistants.

Kentucky lost to Austin Peay tonight. APSU was 0-2 coming into the game, and lost its opener to Division II Trevecca Nazarene.

Yikes. Imagine they will open the refurbished and modern Memorial Colesium next Fall with a new coach on the sidelines.

You got the first four absolutely right but I hardly think Finley's seat is burning, if even warm. She's only in her 3rd season and has a 15-17 (.469) SEC record, an NCAA Berth and an WNIT Great 8 run under her belt. For comparison, it took Brandon Schneider SEVEN years to have a winning conference season, and even considering his relative success the last two, his 34-110 (.236) record in the Big 12 is by far the the worst in the Power 5 among coaches with 5+ years experience.

I'd say it's more like Finley is a rising star that a had a sophomore slump, and I doubt Florida's athletics department would consider warming up her seat unless she under-performs again this year.

Finley also just signed Shaq's daughter. No idea if she's any good, but the publicity she's bringing to the U of Florida is generally a net positive right now - so I think she has a few more years to prove her worth.

Agree. Finley is nowhere near warm.

I have zero confidence that the AD Barnhart will make a change and if he does it will be an underwhelming candidate. I hope I’m wrong.

7. Kellie Jolly Harper, Tennessee, isn't going nowhere. She is a great coach. Just watch Tennessee after Christmas.

I can see Sam Purcell leaving Mississippi State for Kentucky, since he originally took the MSU job from Louisville. And I can see Tomekia Reed leaving Jackson State for Mississippi State

Oh, Reed is absolutely going somewhere, she's in a contract year and Jackson State is being astonishingly stupid about trying to keep her.

I'm not saying Kelly Grave's seat is warm, but Oregon with it's 3 McDonald All-Americans did just lose by 31 to a Portland team that came in with a losing record and is fresh off losing the best player in program history.

That's not a good look.

Is that because you expect Rickea will be healthy by then? Or because she usually spends November/December working out her rotations, so her teams usually don't start clicking until the new year?

I'm intrigued to know what the Tennessee fan perspective on Harper thus far into the season is. They are now 4-5 and have lost to every decent team they've played, besides Oklahoma. Would the average Vols fan place her on the warm seat now, or is there a potential end-of-season finish that might place her on the hot seat(or is she going to be allowed the same level of leniency her predecessor received)?
