I'm curious to see how the men's and women's Sweet 16 ratings compare. The raw numbers and increase over the past are a good sign for the women, for sure, but how they stack up against a down year on the men's side will tell a lot.

I'm really looking forward to the numbers next week. I've read that the women could beat out the men because the women are on network (used to be free) TV and the men are on TBS (pay TV).

Also, the men are on Monday, and depending on how many people that want to watch the game are stuck in eclipse traffic, the numbers could be even lower.

Will the TV ratings dip down next year when C.C. is long gone?

Yes. I'm not sure how far, but they will go down. Once the buzz is gone, people will go back to their regular lives.

While out and about, I overheard a lot of people talking about the Monday games. And sounding like they enjoyed them. Most people were talking about Iowa/LSU.

Women's game beats the men's game.

Quote:
The national championship game on Monday between Connecticut and Purdue drew 14.8 million viewers across TBS, TNT and TruTV, according to Nielson.

Quote:
It also was well behind the women's national championship game between Iowa and South Carolina on Sunday, which drew 18.7 million across ESPN and ABC to become the most-watched women’s basketball game ever. The number of viewers peaked at 24 million for the Hawkeyes and Gamecocks matchup that most-watched sporting event since 2019 – with the exception of football and the Olympics – according to ESPN.

Awesome.

Men had the prime broadcast time, right?
Seems to me like the order of the games should be switched around next year.

Men are on Monday so that has to be played at night. ABC seems to still be determined to be running American Idol (which oddly has a Perth guy doing well) next season so Sunday night seems unlikely.

Yes, but the men were on cable while the women were on a broadcast network
