2019 Minnesota Lynx draft pick and almost immediate cut Cierra Dillard looks to be in the best shape I’ve ever seen her, and it looks like she’s playing the PG position. 🤔

I love Dillard. I went to UB and would love to see her get another chance in the league.

The Lynx have their own Caitlin Clark.

She’s a UFA, but I’m sure she’d love to come back.

Interesting.

I'm curious to see how much she signs for. I am always really leery of players who sign a big contract after an outlier year (see also Brown, Kalani).

She signed for $100k last season, so you'd think she would be looking for more this time.

I was hoping they were pursuing a post with the draft. A quality one might drop to them. Still have room?

Smith ??? ?
Collier 208K UG
Shepard 124K UG
Juhász 67K R
Milic QO

If all these make the team, then there’s no room for another post.
Of course, they could put Collier at SF, but that’s not her position of best comfort, and I’d rather see Miller and Carleton fill that position.

Did she get the boot from Chicago? She isn't going to start in Minnesota with Collier their franchise player. She'll also have competition for the second team power forward spot if Minnesota retains all their posts

We have a point guard! Happy to hear about this trade. I like Tiffany, but she's not a real point guard and that's what the team needs.

Still trying to figure out what the forward rotation is going to be with the addition of Alanna Smith.

Jess Shephard just commented on Natisha’s insta. It felt like something could be up there. Fairly shrewd updates for Cheryl with Alanna and Hiedenmann.

I wonder if the next move for the Sun could be swapping Carrington and their first rounder for Canada then resign Bonner & Bri.

On the Minny side:

Hiedeman
McBride
Diamond
Collier/Dorka
Jess/Alanna

Probably bring back Allen, Banham, Carleton plus the draft pick.

Looks like Reeve took Collier’s not-so-veiled criticism about players playing out of position, although it’s not a big time PG like Cloud.

Ironically, I was just browsing through Penn State IG a couple days ago and I was surprised to see this.

I was thinking Hiedeman as an assistant sees the capabilities of Owusu all the time and up close. At the time, I was thinking she might advise Connecticut to consider drafting Owusu, but now what? That #19 pick might have been a good place to pick her up (for the Lynx), if teams are napping on her.

Getting less boring….

After her successful season with Chicago, looks like people are willing to look past her Will Smith phase in life.

She might be the better PG than Hiedeman.

Lynx have too much in the guard space. Are they going to move McBride after signing her to an extension? Or perhaps she’ll be suspended for overseas play? 🤔

[Minnesota Lynx signed Taylor Soule to a training camp contract]

Back to boring and nonsensical. This is probably one of the better drafts to pick up your camp fillers.

Has Reeve been exposed as a Hokie lover? Does this mean Kitley is a sure thing for the Lynx? 🤔

I’d take Reese over Kitley, to be honest. Reese is a better rebounder, and it should translate to the next level. They don’t need huge scoring at every position, but they do need consistent rebounding, which Reese will give any team.

The Lynx could also use some on personality the team. Reeve and Collier have turned the squad into the basketball version of the Stepford Wives, kinda of listless and emotionless. That can sap the energy out of their play. The combination of Courtney Williams and Angel Reese should change that, hopefully for the better.

I thought there was a chance Phoenix might take Reese with #3, but they gave up the pick. They’re in win-now mode for Taurasi with her eminent retirement. Taurasi said she liked Reese’s moxie while she was doing NCAAWT commentary, so I thought there was a chance.

I was pushing for the Lynx to draft her in 2020 instead of Mikiah Herbert Harrigan.

Looking through that 2020 draft of so much unrealized potential, did anyone remember Sug Sutton as Mz Irrelevant? Now she ranks as a decent free agent prospect and roster filler.
