Making the playoffs as a rebuilding team, they certainly exceeded expectations, which is impressive. They've looked very good at times, but need significantly more to get out of the 1st round. What additions can they make to turn the corner? Question

They need help at the post of course. Parker is quite good and deservedly an all-star. But she carries all the offensive load down low. Would you say she's more a 4 or 5? I know a true 5 is tough to find these days. Coffey is a great defensive presence but didn't bring consistent offense before her injury. I adore Mo Billings, and she is a great spark off the bench and a great rebounder. But the amount of bunnies I see her miss, I don't think Elmer Fudd missed a bunny worse than Billings sadly. She and Naz seem to be the same type of player, but I think Naz is more consistent offensively.

DRob had good moments at point guard and her and McDonald were a solid pair. Would it be better to flip them as starter/reserve? Does McDonald come off the bench and we got a better option at 1?

Better or more faith in the bench is also needed. I think at one point in time, Atlanta had the top scoring bench in the league. I think that was due a lot to AD & Aari. AD's production and time started to wane in the second half. Not sure if they are interrelated or what. But after the all-star break, the bench was not as effective and not as utilized. Not sure if they hit a wall or what, but bench production should also be key for 2024.

Gray, Howard, and Parker all had great seasons and if they perform next year like this, with those improved pieces, Atlanta will be a force.

If Atlanta really wants to take it to the next level

I would try to poach Cloud from Washington with a max contract

If that didn’t work out some strong consideration into Diggins-Smith. What Skylar brings on the court would be a great fit with Gray/Howard/Parker

My third runner up option maybe try to steal Canada from LA

Speaking of LA if Atlanta can pull off Cloud (or Diggins-Smith) maybe try to poach Nneka Ogwumike if Chiney retires Atlanta would be a great fit for Nneka and is probably a better shot at one more chapuonship
Cloud or Diggins-Smith, A. Gray, R. Howard, N. Ogwumike, Ch. Parker

That is as close to a contender as Atlanta has ever had

If not Nneka offer B. Jones the max
Atlanta has the money to add two regular max contracts

Either way go post with the #8 pick
One of Reese, Jackson or Edwards might still be there if not A. Lee, Kitley, Keys? I am sure I am forgetting someone, either way there should still be Someone who can contribute will still be on the board

Figure out if you want to bring AD and Coffey back at a decent rate

I'm going to feel a way if Atlanta goes all-in to try and build a championship contender around Rhyne Howard, when they had a legitimate Top-20 All-Time player for a decade, and did not.

* Let Robinson/Billings walk
* Sign SDS(235k) or Cloud (210k)
* Sign Bri Jones (200k)
* Sign 2 bench players for 95-110k

G- SDS/Cloud
G- Gray
C- Jones
F- Parker

It's a different ownership group - so I wouldn't be surprised if they take a different approach apart from let Angel do what Angel does best.

Back in those days, super teams were mostly built by "luckily" getting the #1 pick several times in a short period, and being in the western conference. Now, they can do it through lucky lottery picks or through deciding where you want to go and have high profile free agents follow you.

Fingers crossed 🤞🤞 for Aari McDonald, who suffered a knee injury in last night's Perth-Canberra WNBL game Sad

[Update] It's "good" news

Scans revealed she suffered a mild tear, and we expect her back on the court in early February.

I’m putting it out there. I think Atlanta will land Nneka and Skylar.

Im surprised Tina Charles has signed with Atlanta 🤯🤯
Should be a good season. Charles, Parker, Howard, Gray, Canada as starters, with AP, Jones, Coffey, Billings and Hillman off the bench. Could use a shooter or two but pretty nice improvements

This should make for some interesting discourse amongst my family: my dad is a Dream Founding Fan, and he hates Tina Charles.

I guess he needs to turn that hate into some love real soon. 😀

As a former teammate, Wright might be the coach who can get Charles to play tough again.

It wasn't easy, but looks like Tina managed to find a team she hasn't already walked out on. Good luck, ATL.

Good point, but can Wright make her into a team player and not a tall version of Ogunbowale?

I hope for the sake of every sane person in the Dream fandom that y'all don't go on a losing streak, or the locker room vibes with Charles and Powers are gonna be... ugh.

I’m impressed that Atlanta clearly upgraded their roster while maintaining their core and without getting caught in a version of reality where if they missed on the big time Free Agents, they wouldn’t have an exciting path forward.

I do think it’s funny that Tanisha Wright picked up a player that for all intents and purposes is the opposite of what she was as a player in Tina Charles. Like, Tina has to know that T is going to expect defense, right?

Canada, Howard, Gray, Charles, Parker - that is a pretty nice starting lineup that somehow makes Aerial Powers not seem so scary.

I agree strong moves by Atlanta

Canada is an upgrade over McDonald and a better long term fit with R. Howard and A. Gray

Two years ago I thought Charles would go to Atlanta over PX I think it is a good match and Wright is the right coach for her. When you're a team like Atlanta and the top their free agents aren't knocking on your door you have to take some chances to climb the ladder. Charles is a good chance, she is a perfect fit with Canada, Gray, Howard and Parker and if it works it will be a nice redemption story line. Powers has also showed a high level of talent in the past being the off the bench scorer is probably a good role for her, Coffey is another experienced player for the bench that is a strong seven player rotation and you've got Haley Jones, Hillmon and Amihere who are all young and improving it a nice squad to go into the season with.
