Hear ye, hear ye! The NCAAW Fantasy League shall return once more for another fabulous year of fierce battles between traditional teams and those plucky newcomers who hope to make a splash. In the last edition, a bitter battle down to the last buzzer occurred as the ever-formidable Thardy stumbled against the mighty Miracles enabling the wily Coyote to waltz away with the crown on point differential. As we draw near to a new season in an ever-changing landscape (Whaddya mean, Aneesah Morrow isn't at DePaul? Lauren Betts is gone from Stanford?) I am calling for managers who dare to sift through the muddle and find the players who are going to dominate the fantasy stats. I've heard that some shall resort to utilizing crystal balls or even darts to foretell which teams some of these players have ended up on. With that all being said, entries to this years Fantasy League will end on October 10, 2023. Upon the closure of entries, we will determine a finalized league schedule along with when a rolling draft will begin as the season begins on November 5th this year. For those curious as to how things played out last year, this is a link to last years thread. If anyone has any questions or interest in joining, please don't hesitate to let me know!

I've started researching. It's so complicated with all the transfers and extra covid years! I'm sure to miss something important, but wth. I love how it makes me look at so many players/teams I wouldn't ordinarily pay attention to....

Yeah, I think that's the beauty of fantasy. I love being able to follow players who are having fabulous years at places that we might not normally follow such as Idaho, Cleveland State, and so many more.

1. Myrtle
2. Thardy
3. Coyotes
4. Adamj
5. OKState

We are at five of the 10 that we had last year.

Undersized, Pureform, Hoopsmom, Calbearman, and Tbinta - are you all joining us this season?

Welcome back aboard!

We're at 6. So, enough people to run the league once more.

Undersized, I'm looking at you and plotting how I'm going to steal your favorite players from you. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I’m in. I may need the occasional nudge, especially as I start to get back onto message boards and social media. But you know where to find me.

Fabulous!

We're so happy that you're back, even if you're going to steal players from Myrtle. I'm more than happy to give nudges!

so we're at 10. that's a good workable number. Many more and ALL my players get stolen. Crying or Very sad
since I'm old and feeble, I think everyone should let me have the first six picks.

Request denied.

10 is a good place to be - I'm leaving entries open until October 10th as outlined previously, upon which I will determine the schedule, draft order, etc.

Alright, so it looks like we have our 10.

1. Myrtle
2. Thardy
3. Coyotes
4. Adamj
5. OKState
6. Undersized Post
7. NYSports
8. Hoopsmom
9. Tbinta
10. Pureform

I'll post a video of the draft order selection and we can be on our merry way with the draft shortly - we'll do a snake draft and once we get going, I just ask that you try to check back here once a day or once every other day to make your pick. I'll also try to tag people in the Discord. I'm starting to work on getting the spreadsheet up and running and Myrtle can begin their period of despair as Undersized steals her favorite players.

just to be clear, I want #2-4 or #8-9....but heck I'll accept the others. Just like with the teams themselves, it's a time of great hope. [Kinda like Vandy thinking they have a chance to win the SEC]

I'll post it here first, but here's the 2023-2024 Fantasy Draft Order Selection! This wheel will select people in reverse order, meaning that the person selected first by the wheel will have the #10 pick, the second person will have the #9 pick. Without further ado, you can see for yourself the draft results here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19mmCC_wAa0&ab_channel=James

For those who don't want to watch the wheel of draft picks - the draft order is as follows.

Draft Order

1. OK State
2. NY Sport
3. Coyotes
4. Tbinta
5. Myrtle
6. Pureform
7. Hoopsmom
8. Thardy
9. Adamj
10. Undersized Post

I see no reason to delay the beginning of our draft, so without further ado, whenever OK State is available, they can make the first pick of this years insane draft.

Alright, alright. Y'all asked for it and I'm going to deliver on the first transaction of the year. Remember, we have unlimited transactions until the beginning of play.

I'll waive Macie Warren, Utah Tech who has lots of questions about her injury and pick up Hannah Hidalgo, Notre Dame after that performance tonight.

Also, please be sure to post your roster for the first week by the beginning of games. For example, this is my official roster for Week 1, subject to change.

G: Kayla Cooper, Albany v. Merrimack 11/6
G: Gianna Kneepkens, Utah, vs. South Carolina State 11/9
F: Adrianna Smith, Maine vs. La Salle 11/9
F: Mackenzie Holmes, Indiana vs. Eastern Illinois 11/9
C: Raegan Beers, Oregon State vs. Villanova 11/12
U: Hannah Hidalgo, Notre Dame vs. NJIT 11/12 (not vs. South Carolina)
U: Lauren Jensen, Creighton vs. NDSU 11/6
U: Carmen Gfeller, Montana vs. Gonzaga 11/6

Bench:

1. A'jah Davis, Seton Hall vs. Iona 11/7
2. Bella Vinson, Lipscomb vs. Evansville, 11/7
3. Genesis Bryant, Illinois vs. Morehead State 11/7

A few additional reminders:

1. If you do not specify a bench, I will attempt to play the first player available based on who played a game first that week to fill out your roster.

2. A gentle reminder that games against Non-D1 opponents do not count.

3. Let's have fun, y'all and laugh at how much THardy trounces me by in Week 1.

4. If there are any questions, don't hesitate to let me know.

5. A reminder that week 1 games are Nov 6-13th.

6. You can find our stats and rosters for this year here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gB7lk_KX6PmJze0eMEPmjnL9vatvppv-Cs7G9UH_tcM/edit?usp=sharing
