The good news for Dallas is Sabally is back from her 2-game absence due to the ankle injury suffered in Minnesota.

The bad news is the Natasha Howard out.

In a high scoring game, Dallas leads 54-46 at the half after an impressive 2nd quarter. Arike and Satou are the leading scores for Dallas, with 18 and 12 points respectively. Satou and Burton with 2 fouls apiece.

Fever led by their big 3: Boston (14), Smith (10), and Mitchell (11).

Burton was +14 in her 13 minutes, collecting 5 O-boards and 4 assists. That lowered Dangerfield's minutes, but Crystal was an efficient 2-3 for 5 points.

Didn't that Oregon team with Ionescu and Sabally have four future WNBA players? How they end up with zero championships?

Satou only played 3 years (skipped her senior year for the WNBA), with her last season at Oregon being the COVID year (NCAA tournament was canceled). Her sophomore year was the junior year of Sabrina and Ruthy and Oregon was eliminated in the Final Four by eventual champion Baylor. Nyara Sabally was injured her entire freshman campaign, which was the COVID year, so she never actually played with the other 3.

When Sabrina and Ruthy were sophomores and Satou was a freshman, Oregon was eliminated in the Elite Eight by eventual champion Notre Dame.

And Notre Dame had 4 future pros, all of them who have stuck in the league and two have been all-stars: [Jessica Sheppard, Marina Mabrey, Arike Ogunbowale, Jackie Young] (Brianna Turner was on the team but out for the season).

Baylor had 5 future pros, although they have not all been in the league continuously: [Lauren Cox, Queen Egbo, Didi Richards, Nalyssa Smith, Kalani Brown].

We lost and were eliminated from playoff contention yes, but I'm so excited about this team's future!

You should be excited for future of the Fever. Missing the playoffs is better in the long-term, as they get to pick up one more elite player before they escape Lotteryland for a decade (cf. Stars/Aces, although their decade of Lotterylandlessness is still in progress).

And I believe we are guaranteed the most lottery balls again this year.
