Kansas picks up a freshman and two transfers.

Freshman Paris Gaines (6'3 C, Jones HS, Orlando, FL)
Grad transfer Ryan Cobbins (6'0 W, KC, KS) from Alabama
So Skyler Gill, (5'11 W, Wichita, KS) out of North Alabama
A couple of Jayhawks coming home to roost!

Minnesota Grad transfer Destinee Oberg (6'3 Sr C), who started her career at Arkansas, has gone nest door to North Dakota.

Oregon has added UC San Diego Jr Ula Chamberlin (5'8 G, Medford, OR), who was not on the UCSD roster last season and will be eligible to play this season as she put her name in the portal in April.

I noticed Ioanna Chatzilionti is now at Pitt after it was announced in April that she had landed at Oklahoma State.

Ula apparently played first for Weber St. ('19-'20), so she's got some experience, having big numbers as a starter in her freshman year. Kelly's got a LOTTA new pieces to figure out, with only 4 returning from last year's roster.

Pitt picks up two from the portal:
Raeven Boswell (5'11 So W, Austin TX) from GA Tech
Ioanna Chatzileoni (6;3 Jr F, Athens Greece) from OK State

Ohio State loses Kaitlyn Costner (5'8 So PG, Osceola, IN) to E. KY

Purdue Fr Ainhoa Holtzer (5'9 PG, Martigny, Switzerland) lands at WVU

Marquette grad transfer Nia Clark (5'9 Gr G) is off to Cincinnati after entering the portal in August. She spent 3 seasons at Xavier after starting at Miami (OH). She can play right away since she's a grad.

Norfolk State gets two:
Paris Mullins, Gr transfer (6'2 Sr F, McSonough, GA), McNeese State
Diamond Johnson, (5'5 Jr PG, Philadelphia, PA) MC State

I'm confused....she spent 3 years in Cincy, and is NOW going back?

Second stint in the city of Cincinnati, first go-round with the University of Cincinnati.

(unless you're just questioning why someone would want to go *back* to the city of Cincinnati, in which case I have no answers)

Ahhh....got it. That was the nuance I was missing. Cool

I haven’t seen this posted here, but South Dakota State lost two of their stars for the season, Kallie Theisen and Haleigh Timmer. Timmer is said to be ACL, and Theisen I have heard either knee or Achilles.

She re-entered the portal in June I believe. Nothing was really ever said as to why, but my best guess is she was just concerned with fit after getting on campus

Not season-ending, but out indefinitely...

Iowa State's Emily Ryan is "out indefinitely as she continues to recover from a health-related issue". She's had issues this summer with a stress injury in one of her lower legs and has been wearing a walking boot at times, but it sounds like this is unrelated to that. Rumor is she might be out a while.

ISU lost a high percentage of it's statistical output from last season due to graduation and transfer, and now a high percentage of the remaining returning statistical output is out with Ryan on the bench.

Without Ryan, ISU returns:

9 starts (6% of total)
909 minutes (14%)
36 3-pointers (13%)
286 points (12%)
189 rebounds (14%)
20 assists (4%)
22 steals (11%)
17 blocks (18%)

NCAA is dinking around over Ohio State ---> James Madison transfer Hevynne Bristow and whether they will grant her a waiver for this season. I wonder who's paying them not to....?

Jersey Wolfenbarger of Arkansas entered the portal, withdrew from the portal, was removed from the roster, and has been rumored to be meeting with the Arkansas athletic department over how to work with changes made to the portal that began this season.

In Oregon, transfer senior Peyton Scott (formerly of Miami-Ohio), considered to be the most probable starting pg, was revealed to have torn her ACL 5 minutes into the first game. Damn!

ND dodged a bullet a bit. Sonia Citron's injury looked really bad like it was the dreaded 3 letter injury, but in the post game press conference today, Niele Ivey said that Citron just had a bad sprain and will likely only be out a couple of weeks.

LSU's sophomore F Sa’Myah Smith is lost for the season with a knee injury. Big loss for LSU. (At least Angel Reese has returned to the team.)

Gianna Kneepkens is out for the year with a foot injury. Huge blow for Utah to lose one of it's All-Americans and one of the top 10 players in the P12. This will make staying competitive with UCLA, USC, Colorado and Stanford quite a bit more difficult.

Emily Bessoir will miss the rest of the season for No. 2 UCLA after reinjuring the same ACL that sidelined her for the 2021-22 season.

The senior forward got hurt Nov. 9 playing for her native Germany at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers, UCLA said Wednesday.
