Marta is playing in her 6th WC.

I've been watching England v Haiti for about 15 minutes (14:00-29:00). There have been three stoppages for VAR that have probably taken a total of 10:00 of the 15:00. Will be interesting to see how much stoppage time is added.

I think that they got the calls correct, but when a VAR ref looks at it to see if the game ref needs to look at it and then the game ref has to go over and look at it...there has to be a better way.

They added 9:00 of stoppage time. Rolling Eyes

Fox coverage sucks. But what's new. They have the worst NFL coverage too.

Their audio is terrible. I can barely make out what the announcers are saying over the crowd noise. They need to fix that.

US needs to get their asses in gear or they are going to lose to Netherlands. Not impressed with this coach so far.

There were organized watch parties across... well, I don't *know* if it was all of Australia or just the greater Sydney area, but we watched the first half with a bunch of locals on their village green.

France-Brazil and Colombia-Germany were the two best matches so far. Hoping Jamaica can get the draw at least against Brazil to advance.

Watched the end of the Columbia-Germany match up this morning. Wow. That had to either be heartbreaking or heart stopping!!!!

Getting ready to watch France-Brazil now.

I'm so screwed up with the time difference, I don't know which games I'm watching live and which ones recorded. Thinking that I'm going to have to watch US-Port when I get up Tuesday. A 1:00 am start time is just wrong!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

French coach seemed to be a bit of an ass.

A lame 0-0 draw against Portugal for USA. Likely sets them up to face Sweden in the next round. Sweden has looked solid this World Cup while the USA has underperformed.

This team is getting blasted in the media. I haven't read anything about their fight for pay equal to the men's team yet, but I feel like it will be coming.

I doubt I will even watch this game. I admit, I don't watch any soccer. Just the Olympics and WC. I don't even recognize most of the names. LaValle, Rapino, Ertz and that's all I can think of right now. I'd have to see a roster to see if any of the names pop out to me. (Dunn and Morgan are two more.)

And where did we get this coach? He seems to resemble a bump on a log.

Soccer sucks.

And can we fire this coach as soon as he steps off of that plane?

I turned it off after they finally showed the VAR of the goal. I doubt that I will watch any more of it. I'm sure that I won't be the only one to not watch anymore. Fox is going to take a hit there I'm sure.

This World Cup happening in Australia wasn't going to get big ratings. And the the USA didn't win their group, so they got the 5am EST broadcast instead of playing last night at 10pm. But now the majority of USA soccer fans won't watch the remainder with games taking place in the early morning. Early prediction is that we get a Japan-England Final.

The whole tournament has been a disaster for CONCACAF

Jamaica says otherwise. Imagine them defeating Colombia and going further than USA and Canada.

Federation results in the group stage

I'm not sure I should even count Jamaica for CONCACAF considering how little support they've given. The Jams had to do a GoFundMe to even get to the tournament.

Hopefully they get paid accordingly from their federation.

CONCACAF out in the round of 16. A horrendous showing for North America.

Australia's semi final loss to England last night was the most watched show in aussie TV history.
Pretty cool for a country that has been super slow to embrace women's sport, and doesn't really care very much about soccer.

Plenty were watching by means other than TV, too
