Wow. Those are great. Basically ABC numbers! Especially for the late game!

Not having to go head-to-head against the NFL probably helped.

https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2023/10/wnba-finals-ratings-game-1-liberty-aces-viewership-abc/

WNBA Finals opens with most-watched Game 1 since 2000

Quote:
Sunday’s Liberty-Aces WNBA Finals Game 1 averaged a 0.45 rating and 729,000 viewers on ABC, marking the largest audience for Game 1 of the Finals since 2000 — when Comets-Liberty averaged 872,000 on Lifetime.

Excellent number against NFL.

What a fever dream to see a finals game was on Lifetime.

.16 was the average rating in the 18-49 demographic.

I’ve only been following wnba ratings since 2018 but that’s gotta be a record for a 9pm weekday game on ESPN, right? I feel like just a few years ago that would be like 350-450.

Game 2 last year on a Tuesday beat it at 649,000 average viewers. Playing during the baseball postseason does not help and people naturally tune out with larger margins.

Wait, why do you hate to say it? Aren't we supposed to want a commissioner who gets shit done?

Exactly.

People were hating on her for how vague she was being about expansion but she actually played that hand exception well. She is easily the best leader this league has ever had and it isn’t even remotely close.

Now if next season the finals don't take a year to complete (sarcasm) that would be great. Having so much time between the end of the semifinals and start of the finals is crazy. During the finals, having 3 or more days between games is also crazy insane. Takes focus away from the series. As well, AT LEAST the finals should be a best of 7. Always a best of 7 finals.

No exactly , I only stated I hate to say it because previous posts and polls on this board conclude she's not liked or worthy of her position as ive always stated shes moving the needle more so than any prez we have ever had including P1 Ackerman .

If the semi’s had gone 5 games, the time to the Finals wouldn’t have seemed so lengthy.

Anyone who has ever thought she was unqualified and did not like her is an absolute moron.
