Ratings are available for these as well. Numbers are the percentage of that group in the sample that were watching the game on average. The order is 18-34, 18-49, then 25-54.
7/7 Las Vegas-Dallas ION 394,000 .02 .06 .08
7/8 Seattle-New York ESPN 318,000 .10 .10 .12
7/9 Washington-Connecticut ESPN 323,000 .03 .09 .10

Interesting that ion is outdoing ESPN. It makes sense since one is free and one is cable but i wonder if ion could build their number up to abc level numbers with some decent promotion.

The All Star game drew 770k. Lower than I was hoping for a prime time network game. The MLB game on FOX drew 1.6 million.

TBH this year's ASG was just not that interesting, the player's did not too much care and the 4 pointer needs to go lol ruins the flow of the game and allows player's to become Arike Juniors. Laughing

You do have to wait for the final ratings for live broadcast events.

18-34, 18-49, 25-54:
Skills: .06 .08 .09
Game: .13 .16 .22

Why I should defer to the professional! I got excited to post but I’m glad the number was higher. I was really hoping for it to hit a million. But still, I think the W has really proven it’s worth. It’s ratings are now consistently decent and live sports is one of the few things most people can’t skip commercials on. So 600k viewers for a W game could be more valuable than 1.5 million viewers of a sitcom with skipped commercials.

Go get that contract Cathy! It’s the whole reason you were brought on. Get the money, expand 2 teams and prepare for the next CBA.

Wow. Really love that CBS number. Maybe they should increase their CBS games?

The expansion article says:

Quote:
WNBA attendance is up 27 percent this season while viewership for nationally-televised games is up 67 percent over last year across ABC, CBS, ESPN, and ESPN2.

Does these ESPN number's factor in the amount of fans who could not view due to the spectrum/disney debacle ?

How could they possibly factor that in? The ratings are based on how many people watched the program not how many people could have watched it if given the opportunity.

We, of course, can take it into consideration when seeing the numbers.

One of the original ratings people is back in the game on the SportsTVRatings Substack so we have more recent ratings available and we will get any Top 150 sports broadcasts as determined by 18-49 rating, the decimal after the average viewership. A 0.00 there means less than .005% of people 18-49 in the sample were watching on average. Also, the confidence interval on some of these lower rated games are going to be ridiculous.

8/24 Las Vegas-Chicago NBATV 70,000 .02
8/27 Atlanta-Indiana NBATV 40,000 .01
8/27 Dallas-Phoenix NBATV 48,000 .01
9/5 Chicago-Indiana NBATV 25,000 .00
9/6 Seattle-Atlanta NBATV 34,000 .01
For Luuuc: 9/6 Perth Wildcats (not the Bandits)-G League Ignite NBATV 36,000

Quote:
Viewership was up 21% over last year across its national television partners, and the league's average attendance of 6,615 fans was the WNBA's highest since the 2018 season
.

They don't specify "per game". So if total viewership, broadcast ION being added with the two Friday night games should have helped. And all per season stats benefited from the season being 4 games longer (but that is only 11% over last year).
