That WAS sick.

But if she isn't going to go for the dunk, she has to make the shot anyway.

Yeah, I'm sure she knows she needs to pick. That is a weird form of pressure that most female players don't even have to concern themselves with.

Next time I bet she makes a quick decision.

Forget Parker for the moment, where ISN'T Nicky Anosike!! She is a stud -- on the boards, bringing it up, filling the lane, hustling for balls... I like this girl.

BTW, how many future WNBA players are there on the court right now?

It's hard to tell, but certainly a lot. It all matters if they can make the transition to the more physical WNBA.

From UCONN
Ann Strother
Barb Turner
Charde Houston
Nicole Wolff
Brittany Hunter

From TENN
Shanna Zolman
Candance Parker
Alexis Hornbuckle
Tyesha Fluker
Sidney Spencer
Nicky Anosike

...more???

I love Anosike. Definitely my favorite LV.

What a great game!

UConn has looked pretty good so far I must say. Very aggressive & hitting clutch shots. No wonder Pat was talking to her team about defense in the locker room, guarding open threes. Parker & Zolman will have to step up in the 2nd half.

Alexis Hornbuckle is really having a great game. I am very impressed with her and Zolman playing the full game, their offense may be a little off, but they are getting it to their posts and playing tough defense. Sometimes your shot is off, but what makes you a great player is making things happen even when your not dropping shots.

Lobo was spot on about Zolman.

Now this is one hell of a game. Zolman picking it up. Strother continuing to drop 3balls.

Good to see Parker back in.

Another great game. Congrats to the Lady Vols. Would have been nice to see Candace go all out, rather than just flashes of brilliance (but what flashes they were Exclamation ). I thought Uconn played well too. At many points Charde Houston was the best player on the court, not to mention Ann Strother.

Being in Australia I only got to listen to the game, but from the radio broadcast, it sounded like the crowd had a LOT to do with deciding this game - they were loud all out except for during UConn's early 10-0 run. Any one want to weigh in for me about whether the result would have been different on a UConn home floor?

might've. but what struck me, setting aside the comparable talents of each team, is that the lady vols were sooooooo confident. their collective body language said they deserved that game and, damn it, they would have it.

They went into the game undefeated and ranked #1 ... I would think something was *seriously* wrong if they weren't confident during this game.

As a UConn fan though, I'm happy with the way the Huskies played - it's a great indication of how far they've come since the UNC game.

Parker has enough swagger for every time east of the Mississippi...

That's because UConn doesn't have a supposed 'Super Star' this season as the media keeps reiterating each week. As good as Strother is, and as awesome as she's been playing, teams - and the media - still don't pip her as a superstar ... and I think that suits her nicely. UConn has a roster of good/great, athletic players - but none of *that* status. This game was probably the first game, that player for player, Tennessee had a better team over all on paper - of course that's going to give you confidence going into a game against your 'big rival', reguardless of your record or ranking.

I don't remember a LV team when it didn't matter who had the ball. ANY of theses ladies are more than capable of carrying the team, but they don't have to because the talent is so deep. IMO.

I dont think Wolff or Zolman will make it in the WNBA. They're too spotty and they rely on their team mates way too much. The ability to create your own shot is something both miss. Fluker is a interesting player because I feel like shes always been the "off the bench" post player for Tennessee but I think her talent is kind of there. I dont know if she'll make it in the WNBA but if she does she'll be a bench player like Amisha Carter, or DeTrina White. I cant see her getting many minutes seeing as she is also inconsistant.

Strother impressed me. I will be honest. I dont really like her game. And I thought she might be one of those draft picks people wish they could take back, but tonight she put on a show. Everyone else on that list will probably make it on some team. So much talent spread all over each draft. This was a great game.

If Erin Thorn can make a team, so can Zolman.
