53-40 early second half. Mississippi State is playing great defense and hitting their 3 pointers (8-13). I imagine they will cool off a bit, but if Creighton doesn't solve their defense better, I think Miss St. will pull off an upset. They look like the better team--some of the shooting is because they're getting better looks than Creighton.

Just got home. Is this a matter of MSST having already played a game in the Joyce and Creighton hasn't?

It will be interesting to see if that does benefit the play in team.

It's always hard to tell. If the high seed wins, it's because they're rested. If they lose, it's because they're rusty. At any rate, if Mississippi State wins, they'll be the first team to play in the First Four who wins its second game, so it hasn't been an advantage so far in the small amount of time they've been doing a 68 team tournament.

Who’s an 11 seed? I hear a lot of laughter from Bulldog land.

Did MS St. just recently get a star player back into their lineup (Jess Carter, maybe?) I haven't really followed them, but they might be having Cinderella Dreams already. Cool

MS ST is just better than a lot of people think, and they’re peaking at the right time. They play in one of the toughest conferences in the country where the mantra is “defense, rebound, and run”, and that’s exactly what they did.
