I need to give full blown shout out loud props to my man Slovy for his efforts to make the final practice of the Farmington 4ht Grade Sparks a success.
Slovy sent me to give to the kids on the team:
A few Sparks T-Shirts
A Sparks carry bag
and above all a signed Tamecka Dixon jersey
I usually make the last practice for these kids all games, no real work, since it's just a rec league. We showed up last night and found out the school was having a concert, so we had almost no gym, and half the time. But with shoving some chairs aside, I started them with knockout, and you should have seen the looks on their faces when I pulled out the first T-shirt for the winner! Amazing.
They played a few more, and I sprinkled in some air/sea/land for variation, and they were killing themselves to win stuff. The shooting was incredible!
I let the four winners play for the supreme knockout champion of the universe, winner gets the signed jersey. Luckily for the remainder of my night, Dani won the jersey! She was SO PSYCHED. And because she won fair and square there was no favoritism feeling among the kids (that I could see).
My assistant brought ice cream for them, and I had a bunch of autographed Kara Wolters cards (I'm finally out of them!) that I gave out for answering trivia questions (ok, one girl finally got how do you spell your name).
SLOVY, COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU. YOUR COURTESY AND KINDNESS TO SOMEONE YOU HAVE NOT EVER PHYSICALLY MET IS AMAZING, AND I KNOW DANI & I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER WHAT YOU'VE DONE FOR US!!!!

Thanks for the shout! You're very welcome!
Like I said before, I don't have kids of my own (yet) so I really enjoy sharing the W gear with other people's kids.
That's so cool Dani won the jersey! Did that little Sparks ball show up?

OMG, I'm So sorry I forgot to mention it. Came the day you said it would, and she LOVED it. Can't wait to get it signed. She's torn now, she really wants Lisa to sign a board for her, but she wants the ball signed by everyone, so...
She's in preseason form, she has said her goal for the year is Leslie and Swoopes on boards, they are the two biggest names she is missing for her board collection.

When you say "board" do you mean a piece of parquet floor that looks like basketball court?
Lisa used to sign things for me all the time and then she got it in her head that I was selling autographs...

Yes, I go to Lowe's and buy parquet flooring, then snap it into four 6x6 squares.
Dani has about 40 or so signed. That includes Taurasi, Bird, LJ, Mique, TT, Alana, Tamika, Dawn, Yo, etc.
I then print the name out on a label, and the logo on a clear label and stick them on. They look pretty cool. She has them hanging on the wall in her room, sort of like a Wall of Fame.

| She got Anne D., Pat Summitt and a few other coaches even. She was afraid to go up to SFO. She thought he looked big and mean!
