BIG game in determining seeding for the ACC tournament. AND it's the breast health awareness game! When we have coaches AND players being diagnosed with this disease, it's time to focus on detection, treatment and prevention. Young Black women are particularly hard hit and, on average, survive it less often than all other categories of people.

Thankfully, this disease has not directly hit the Duke program. <<knocking on wood>> I got to meet Kay Yow, an inspiring warrior, who let the disease "kick her forward" and the fund in her name is laser focused on young women early detection and prevention of life threatening disease.

I will be present as a DWB fan and a 17 year survivor of this dreaded disease. Yep, 17 years ago this month, I was diagnosed and I am still here!

GO DUKE!

I SAT NEXT TO JESSICA BRELAND!!!! OMG! She played with Kara in the WNBA and is a BIG fan of Coach Kara!!! Of course, she and I also shared our cancer survivor stories and mutual admiration. And, I watched her openly applaud every time every Duke player shifted perfectly on defense and made the stop. She knows how good the D is - and it's exciting to watch a team shifting in unison. It is NOT easy to do - every player on the floor has to be locked in every minute on the floor.

Duke held Miami to single digits in Q1 & Q2 - making it 7 quarters in a row of holding opponents to single digits. Miami came out of halftime WAY more energetic on defense, which fed their offense. In the second half, Miami's tough shots were falling and Duke's weren't. Duke won 50-40. Reigan Richardson with game high 14 pts.
