So I log in to Reb's to read the discussion of the massive free agency news that has occurred today, and there's not even a single mention of it?

And Cayla George’s signing is guaranteed, per Richyyy, so she’s making this final roster.

Sure looks like Stokes ain’t coming back, but it seems like Zahui B. may not actually join this roster either. If not, she could be sitting out (voluntarily this time), or again be on the trading block.

I'm curious to hear more opinions on Hamby's comments and situations. I don't quite understand what was so unethical about it. It's business. Las Vegas probably fully intended to have her on it's roster, until the mutual interest for Parker came about.

How is Hamby getting traded any different than any other trade in this league to clear space for a star?

It's not the trade, it's what Hamby claims that front office personnel said to her regarding her pregnancy that is very troublesome. Things like claiming the pregnancy was deliberate and belittling her, not good. If I had said that to one of my employees, I'd be a ton of trouble.

If nothing had been said to Hamby, but instead she was just traded to clear cap room and bring in someone who can start the season and help them, that would make this a completely different story.

This x2. Idk what people aren't understanding about this.

People need to actually read her statement in order to understand why her eventual departure was rooted in such a problematic place.

I do not know what the said to her, but people need to understand that a pregnancy by a woman athlete is quite different that being a father. I think teams have a right to consider the ramifications of a player being out for that length of time as being a major negative. It is totally unlike any other job where someone can work while actually pregnant. A player should not expect to get paid for the entire time they are indisposed while pregnant and the time necessary right after the birth.

………so as i was saying, people need to read her statement to actually understand what she’s alleging, the trade itself is not the problem here

welp, it’s now 100% clear to me that Fargas was one of the people Hamby was talking about, as her being the one to answer any Hamby-related question likely would’ve had the chance to come back to haunt her in a legal setting – she looks like a mess of a leader now though just *poof* vanishing mid-question like that, woof that whole wrap-up was cringe

i know some of those poor media members who sat there in hopes of getting to ask one (1) question were ready to throw hands, they were visibly left in disbelief 😭

I said it in the other thread about Sabrina being with an NFL player, NFL contracts are fleeting and lack stability. He could be in New Orleans or Denver the following year. Then what. The W is only in 12 cities. It wouldn't be smart to follow an NFL player to a new city.

And Plum has explicitly said on Twitter that she is not following.

Every time two pro athletes get married, people start speculating about which spouse will ask for a trade or what's going to happen in free agency. Like Alex Morgan and the guy who used to play for the Sounders.

I was making a joke about how excitable Liberty fans can get when a top player has local ties. Wink

Becky Hammon spent most her life being overlooked and underestimated. Not anymore.

to be absolutely fair, it was actually a Mystics fan who originally argued that a WNBA star became likelier to follow her significant other to his NFL team – no Liberty fan as far as i saw echoed this sentiment
