Not being a twit (my name for tweeters Razz ) I only learned now that ESPN'S former Mechelle Voepel has transitioned, now known as M.A. Voepel, a.k.a., "Mike", etc.

I'm glad for him, and applaud all the guts it takes to make such a move. I first met M.A. at the FF in Indy, where he provided me with connections that got me last-minute tickets to Stanford's FF appearance. We had lunch together there, and I was immensely impressed by the encyclopedic knowledge, encased in a delightfully friendly personality.

Lucky you in getting meet Mike in person! It's cute learning that his college friends had always addressed him as "Mikey." He's a great writer and interesting person.
