Nobody posted the news release about that.

The news release said she acted as the GM, so I think there will be a new GM by name, but Reeve will probably be heavily involved until the new GM is up to speed (could take years).

I wonder if the Lynx could pick up a savvy vet PG like Cloud with the #2 pick? Would the Mystics be interested in a youth movement beyond the coaching staff?

https://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/minnesota-lynx-name-clare-duwelius-as-general-manager/n-5906319

The Assistant GM was formally named GM for the Lynx.

Quote:
The 2022 season marked Duwelius' ninth season with the Lynx and fifth as Assistant General Manager, responsible for assisting Reeve in all day-to-day tasks of basketball operations, including player contracts, draft prospect scouting, domestic and international player logistics, budget management and team travel arrangements. As a member of Reeve's staff, Duwelius has served on Lynx teams that made eight-straight postseason appearances, highlighted by three consecutive WNBA Finals trips and two WNBA Championship titles in 2015 and 2017.

I don't think Natalie will be playing this year, given she is several months along in her pregnancy.

It looks to me the Lynx should be thinking about drafting a Center in the 1st round of the 2023 Draft. Elizabeth Kitley with the 2nd pick in the draft or a trade down with another team then draft Elizabeth Kitley?

Did you read the part about a trade down sorta like what Mike T did for the 2022 Draft. Smart move by Mike T he picked up Austin and gain a lottery pick for the 2023 Draft.

Tiffany Mitchell is expected to sign with the Minnesota Lynx, sources confirm to Winsidr.

at this point, Lynx need Tina Charles to sign with them... unless they have some trade brewing, are they really going to rely on draft and waived/cut players?

Maya Moore officially retired.
Karima Christmas retired, which is important to note because Reeve’s understudy won’t be able sign her to a three year guaranteed contract (Reeve’s first bungle of many).

Lynx sign:
Lindsey Allen
Bridget Carleton

The Lynx striving to be as bad as last year, which should put them firmly in the lottery.

If the Lynx are going to be in the Paige Bueckers lottery, please don't let us have to deal with Tina Charles. I have hard nothing but negative remarks about her affects on the team she's on and I want her NOWHERE near Collier and the Lynx. Reeve or not, she is not a good teammate and I don't want that for Lynx.

Actually, if you’re one who thinks Tina Charles' presence makes teams worse, signing her is exactly what you want to do if you want to end up in the lottery again. Laughing

(ope, and here comes raf running over now to put in their same two cents about Charles that absolutely no one asked for lmao)

Making a team worse is one thing. Affecting the teams chemistry negatively is another. I don't want to mess up Collier staying in Minnesota. Lynx will suck with or without Charles. Let's not go down that road.

it was just a joke anyway – much like this *gestures to 2023* all is – cuz i’d be shocked if Charles thought taking vet min in Minn will guide her to her highly elusive first title

I’ve never been a fan of intentionally being a bad team for draft purposes, and Reeve seems to be the same way. But maybe she’ll rethink that for Bueckers. The Bueckers hype is strong, especially in Minnesota and Connecticut. I remember a sports radio broadcast Reeve was on where the DJ (not WNBA savvy) stated that Reeve needed to do what she has to do to bring Bueckers to the Lynx. Reeve kinda played along with it as much as she could without violating any rules.

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KoyxJMGz-M4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

My unpopular opinion is that it’s actually the Caitlin Clark lottery. She’s much more durable and I like her basketball game better. Bueckers is more social media savvy and affable. Angel Reese will probably be a lottery pick too. There’s a lot A’ja Wilson in her. But I believe all three of these players can delay their entrance into the draft until 2025 if they use their covid options. That complicates any unsavory plans.

Collier didn’t tag them on Instagram, but I believe this is Johannes and Gabby Williams sitting with Collier.

I would love if the Lynx would pursue Johannes as a PG. I’ve wanted her on the team since before Liberty fans had any clue who she was. But I suspect the WNBA prioritization will make playing for the WNBA less doable for foreign players. Tell me I’m wrong, awhom.
