I'm hoping the Sky put this team away EARLY. Play inspired. Make Powers miss shots early, and she'll shoot her team right out of every offensive possession until she makes one. Laughing Laughing

And, Sky don't take your "feets" off the gas in the 2nd half.
Laughing

I was thisclose to taking a vacation day, and go to this game, but remembered, 2 hours of screaming kiddos... no thank you. Laughing

They at least are acknowledging that turnovers are a problem. They just need to do something about it! Evil or Very Mad

28-25 MIN end of first

MIN should be up more if it weren’t for some defensive breakdowns and giving up cheap baskets.

A lot of pace to the game. Can CHI run the whole game?

Like many coaches Wade also will not tell Parker to stop shooting 3s if she doesn't have it. Get her ass in the paint, and at least draw fouls or something.

Jefferson has been really good for the lynx this season. She really is the calming factor on this team

I thought for sure the Lynx were gonna choke this game away on that stretch of 4 empty possessions in a row, mostly turnovers. But they hung in there and the Sky ended up bricking some shots they needed. The Sky are the team that usually do just enough to win, but not this time.

81-78 MIN final

Top two team knocked off in consecutive games. Now for some vacation.

Collier was there and wasn’t 100% committed to coming back this season, but it sounds like she’s gonna make the effort. Maybe it’ll ride on whether the Lynx make the playoffs or not.

Two favorite teams. Great game. The energy and penetration of Powers and Jefferson make this team rock! Very Happy

I have asked before, but why is Meesseman an All-Star?

her production has fallen off, but when allstar voting was happening she was getting double doubles and when other players were missing from their lineup she was holding it all together...and Chicago has won a lot of games.

When they were announced, she was averaging barely more than 13 points a game and about 6 rebounds.

Sky has been squeaking by and winning these types of games. The problem is they have to put out so much energy just to come back, they were due to get bit. Sometimes the Sky seem content to rest on their current record, on their championship glow, etc. etc..

I still think Chicago is thin at the post. Other than bringing Stevens off the bench, what other post provides offense? CP should not be starting every game, in my opinion. Save her legs. I would not mind seeing her alternate with Stevens for the start.

And CP provides leadership and high morale that doesn't always show in the box scores.

Would be interesting to see where all the votes come from. Unfortunately, a lot of the vote emanates from Pied Piper followers.

Which postplayer on the east would you have liked to see in her place?
If you are going to complain about Meesseman then you can say the same things about Hamby..

Quote:
Coaches will vote for three guards, five frontcourt players and four players at either position regardless of conference.

G - Atkins
G - Sloot
G - Howard
F - Howard
F - Jones
F - Thomas
F - Hamby
F - Copper (she's listed as a G/F on the .com roster)
U - Meesseman*
U - Diggins- Smith
U - Loyd
U - Ogunbowale

With this configuration, the coaches could have voted for either G or F from either conference - and not had to put Meesseman in - to help out PUMatty.
