Prohaska and Brunelle are ready to go for the tournament.

I know Brunelle has been playing, but her shoulder is a lot better now that it's had time to heal.

Prohaska is back from her eye surgery (she had a broken orbital bone from an injury in the NC St. game).

https://www.on3.com/teams/notre-dame-fighting-irish/news/notre-dame-womens-basketball-ncaa-tournament-sam-brunelle-abby-prohaska/

“What’s pain?” Brunelle said. “That’s what I keep saying. What’s pain? When you love something so much, you play through whatever you have to — especially for your teammates. I just show up every day and give them everything that I have.”

An article on Prohaska's return (Man, she's been through a lot in her career) and what she means to the team:

https://www.ndinsider.com/story/sports/2022/03/18/notre-dame-womens-basketball-abby-prohaska-ready-ncaa-tournament/7037398001/

Interesting stat from the article:

ND's record this year with Prohaska: 15-2
ND's record without Prohaska: 7-6.

Yeah, the two Louisville losses wouldn't have been affected that much, but the other 4 losses were close enough (three were within a basket) that her absence really mattered.

Has anybody heard why the ND coaching/bench staff are wearing masks but the players on the bench are not?

I was watching the Purdue men last weekend and they showed Niele in the crowd and she had a mask on. There were very few other people that I noticed wearing them.

I called that shot at the end of the half good as it got to the top of the key!!!!!!

It got to the top of the key and said "got it!"

So UMass throws in a bank shot from behind the mid court line as the first half buzzer sounds.

Looking forward to getting Dodson back on the court the second half.

8 pt lead for ND at the half.

Well, nothing much happened that quarter. 8 pt lead to start, 8 pt lead 10 minutes later.

Fouls starting to pile up somewhat on UMass. 3 on their star Breen and on White, 2 on nearly everyone else.

Miles needs an assist for a triple double. ND hasn't had one in the tourney since SDS had one in 2012 I think they said.

Got it!!!

Ended with 12, 11 and 11.

ND wins 89-78.

MIles has as many triple doubles in her freshman year as Diggins and Young did in their careers (and Diggins did it as a junior and senior, while Young did it twice as a senior).
