She might well, but....don't forget your chance at extra bonus points for predicting her (or Boston's) pt/reb totals.

(you TOO, summertimeblues!)

Also, there are no points to be earned in *picking* SC for the win. That point will only be awarded if you pick the stat-leading center.

Yes, you did. But you and Coyotes apparently missed the *fine/weird print* on how that game might earn you bonus points; I've re-jiggered the wording from my o.p. for clarity (??):

Howee wrote:

For your selection on that date, CHOOSE THE PLAYER THAT WILL HAVE THE MOST COMBINED POINTS AND REBOUNDS TO EARN ONE POINT. Then, decide how many points & rebounds you predict the HIGHEST scoring/rebounding number will be for whichever player has the most (regardless of your pick) and if you come within 3 either way, you'll earn an extra 5 pts, EVEN IF you didn't pick the correct player. Very Happy

For example: if you pick Ayoka to have the highest number, and she has that, you get one point. Then, predict a total 'stat set' on pts/reb. I'll say 12/9. This is the number of rebounds and points I'm predicting the highest performing gal gets , so if I picked Ayoka who gets 14/4, but Aliyah gets 13/10, then Aliyah's stats are the winning total: 23. I still get 5 pts even if I picked Ms Lee wrongly, cuz my total (21) was within 3 of the actual (23).

Ahhhh.....you'd enjoy 'awarding points', eh? That means YOU might wanna produce a slate of games for our contest? I'd be glad to have you pick a week to do that -- just tell me when. Cool

Ayoka Lee shall triumph with 15 points and 6 rebounds against a quiet night from Boston.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Let's just say, "It AIN'T pretty!"

If I'm recalling last season here, I don't think you played, right? For past seasons, Calbearman frequently asked several of us to volunteer to produce a slate of games for any given week. And that offer remains open here, for any of you. Cool

In the South Carolina vs Kansas State game, the Gamecocks beat the Wildcats 65-44. Aliyah Boston had 21 pts and 17 rebounds. Ayoka Lee had 14 pts and 6 rebounds....

I picked Boston with 14/10, but she totally blew my prediction out of the water....

Umm, yeah. Laughing

Who got close to 38 on their prediction? Alas, nobody gets the 5 extra bonus points. Razz

Ladeeez 'n Gentz: The results of Week 1 are tabulated! (correctly, I hope - feel free to double check my data analysis.)

Number of games (and one player, Boston) correctly predicted:

12 Pureform
10 Summertimeblues
9 Conway Gamecock
9 Coyotes
9 Howee
8 undersized_post

As mentioned in an earlier post, nobody earned the 5 extra points of the Lee/Boston matchup. (just THINK, u_p, that coulda put you in the lead! Very Happy )

I may try to do a player matchup again sometime, if y'all aren't opposed; it's one way for us *lesser* prognosticators to make up for bad picks. Razz

Onward and upward, to u_p's slate of games for the coming week. Cool

As week 2 draws to a close, is there anyone amongst us that might want to produce a slate of games for week 3? Probably should be done by 12/12....?
