No, they super don't.

Some of them do, but most do not

If you think Tennessee's getting disrespected let's talk about Nebraska for a minute. 7-0 and 4th in the nation in scoring average at 35 points per game and not getting a SINGLE vote. No, they haven't beaten a Top 25 team, but neither have most teams. I don't know if it's disrespect or negligence on part of the voting panel, but it's pretty shameful.

I've had my eye on Nebraska, as I posted earlier in the Big Ten thread, but as just a WNIT team last year who lost a stronghold in Kate Cain, I think it's fair that they aren't getting votes until they have a better win than a nail biter against Creighton.

The records of the 7 teams Nebraska beat are a combined 13-27.

I’ll be surprised if they beat Wake Forest in their next game.

Nebraska beat up on Wake Forest (were 7-0), so I’m now on board giving them Top 25 recognition.

They have the potential of going undefeated until January, without a single truly notable win, then they face four consecutive ranked teams.

Nebraska is one of only three teams to be 8-0 (the other two are South Carolina and TAMU) and the only one not ranked, and not even getting any votes.

So Arlington beat SoFlorida and SoFlorida beat Stanford, therefore Arlington should be ranked #4. Cool

Add Missouri to that list.

Especially if Wisconsin can win a game in the Big Ten...I mean, just being able to start out with "Chicago State beat Wisconsin" could make it quite a list. Wisky has beaten new DI member St Thomas as well as Boise State. Boise has no DI wins as of yet.

Georgia only dropped a spot losing to GT.
ND gains two spots after losing to UConn. Must have been seen as a “good loss”.
Media still wants to believe in the champ after two losses, one brutal.

Regarding ND moving from #24 to #22, I think it's more of a case of the teams below them falling:
--The previous #22 FGCU lost to Princeton and fell back to RV.
--The previous #23 Oregon State barely beat Pacific, yet they should have already been behind ND given that ND won their H2H matchup and the two teams have otherwise quite similar resumes.

Regarding Georgia not being penalized much for their loss to Georgia Tech, I think the issue is that people are uncertain what to make of Georgia Tech this year. They have still kinda been given the benefit of the doubt based on their Sweet 16 appearance last season and their 3rd in ACC preseason selection. Even though they have two pretty bad losses to Auburn and Purdue and have lost some key pieces due to injury, they are still receiving votes. So based on the fact they they are RV, it's clearly not a "bad" loss in the minds of some voters.

Regarding Stanford, I don't know what to say. They have two top 15 losses, but also two top 10 wins. Even with the losses, there's not a team I would personally move ahead of them.

I think it's unfair that Maryland remained at 8 but Indiana dropped from #6 to #10 for barely losing to #2 NC State, which was essentially a tie game for 38 minutes. Meanwhile, Maryland barely scraped by Miami and struggled to put away Rutgers.

I also don't see how Baylor should be ahead of Maryland. Baylor has no wins of note and lost to Maryland whose only losses are to top 4 teams, despite having some all-around poor showings and struggling with injuries.

My top-10:
South Carolina
NC State
UConn
Stanford
Indiana
Maryland
Tennessee
Baylor
Arizona
Louisville

My top 3 are set, and I think Stanford/Indiana/Maryland/Baylor have to appear in that order, but I could be convinced to move Tenn, AZ, and Louisville up.

Yah, "logic" is constantly flaunted in these polls. In the last week, Oregon lost one and won one, but took a most precipitoius drop, from #18 to out of the top 25. It's kinda funny to see Colorado ranked above Oregon. But....who knows anymore? Oregon is NOT where most believed it could be. Razz

Worth noting that Oregon is currently without it's 3 best players. Voters might have recognized that might be a long-term thing, and voted accordingly. The Ducks without Sabally, Pao Pao and Rogers are objectively not a top 25 team.

You are ignoring the bonus points regularly awarded for history, reputation and name recognition, unrelated to current performance or merit, that are factors in all of these polls but probably nowhere more so than in the WBB poll.

Justice for Oklahoma!

I'm surprised Iowa hasn't dropped more. Voters have being willing to extend us the benefit of the doubt so far.

Is that a demand or simple statement? Cuz I was POSITIVE they'd be in by now.
