why not? Laughing Anyway that's why we play the game instead of just go by stats. In this game, you get one of your best players having a bad game and you can easily lose the week.

I had a 90% free throw shooter who went something like 1-14 from the line one day when I had her. Enough to kill that category for sure. It happens.

R.I.P.

This is exactly why I avoided taking Caitlin Clark as my first pick. It's one thing if she has a terrible game and Iowa loses. You know, it happens. But God forbid the hopes and dreams of my fantasy team are also riding on her... Nope, my heart just couldn't take it. Laughing

Proposed Schedule:

I'm proposing we do a double round robin, so you'll get to play every player twice for bragging rights. Some weeks, you'll only get to play one player with an 11 Team Roster available. I'm using the draft order to indicate player numbers and welcome any suggestions. I'll continue to fill this out.

Question for Coyotes: so in a week that you play two simultaneous games, do you still only designate one single starting lineup? Or can you have a slightly different starting lineup for each of your two games, if you wish? I'm not saying I want to do that... just asking what you have in mind

Correct -- you would only have one designated lineup for those two games. Having two lineups would be spreadsheet hell and I'm already in spreadsheet purgatorio as is.

One thing to straighten out/possibly add to the rules:
Player who don't play in their assigned games (and especially in the time of covid this could be important):
I think we tried a couple of remedies and decided the one that worked best was that when we post lineups, we also post one or two alternates. That way if someone on your 8 player lineup doesn't play, you still get 8 games that week. You still have to have a center, 2 f's, 2 g's and 3 U's. And you still have to post the lineup, including alternates, before any of them start their games. I can't remember exactly, but it was maybe even if your player plays less than 4 minutes or something like that, then the alternate counted instead...assuming that meant your original player was injured toward the beginning of the game. It was an attempt to keep a fantasizer from being crushed simply because of unforeseeable circumstances. The replacement would also come into play if a weather event causes a game to be delayed beyond the week because we decided that trying to back track weeks in order to catch up would be too crazy. So the games that count have to occur in that week.

Anyway, you can massage as needed/wanted.

As the draft is 75% complete, I'll go ahead and share:

Drafted picks and Team rankings

Shocked I glanced through this. For 23 seconds.

You people are utter masochists, to endure making sense of all this. To borrow Queenie's metaphor, I'd rather herd cats. I'd think even pilight might shiver in his timbers. Razz Laughing

However, I hope to enjoy observing the fruits of your labors, watching results roll in; needless to say, I hafta throw my rooting interests behind u_p, as she has the only Oregon player. (....and needle Myrtle appropriately, too Laughing )

This isn't a bad plan especially given the unknowns of the pandemic or injuries within the first four minutes of a game.

I'll codify as follows:

1. Ye olde fantasy league owners shall submit your lineup for the week for your roster of 8 players. Ye may submit 1 or 2 alternates for the week in case of a cancellation, injury within the first four minutes of the game, or other catastrophic event. If ye do not submit an alternate, Coyotes will use the first available game in the timeframe for a replacement player. For example, lets say you post your lineup of 8 players, but one game gets cancelled, I will use the first game of the week from the appropriate position that you have to fill in the statistical category. If two games with eligible players start at the same time, Coyotes will use a coin flip to determine which player will be used as a replacement.

Are there any objections to the rules as such?

Oh Howee, as much as I'd love to hoard your fandom for myself, I'd be amiss to not point out that Cooper2009 drafted Nyara Sabally. Perhaps you can find it within your heart to root for us both. Cool Very Happy

Rosters are finalized which means that preseason rankings can officially be published. Twisted Evil Take it for what it's worth (not much lol).

Preseason Rosters and Rankings

Remember, my method measures what our entire rosters average in each stat category, and then orders each team in each category from 1st (11 points) to last (1 point). So the maximum rank points you could earn is 110, minimum is 11.

Preseason Rankings:
1. myrtle (79 rank points)*
2. undersized_post (77)
3. Coyotes (73)
4. hoopmom (68 )
5. adamj95 (67)
6. Pureformofthegame (66)
7. tbinta (58 )
8. Hoopsmom (53)
9. Cooper2009 (47)
10. okstateguy (40)
11. ucbart (32)

*note: Myrtle's lead in rank points was much larger at the conclusion of round 8. Since we can only start 8 players per week, you could argue that that would be a more accurate assessment of the strength of her roster. I think we all drafted some wildcards in the final rounds that may or may not pay off, which in some cases negatively affected our rank points.

Top-3 by category:
PPG: Adamj95, pureform, coyotes
FG%: Coyotes, myrtle, pureform
3PM: hoopmom, u_p, adamj95
3P%: myrtle, hoopmom, tbinta
FT%: myrtle, coyotes, hoopmom
REB: tbinta, pureform, Hoopsssssmom
AST: Adamj95, u_p, okstateguy
STL: u_p, pureform, coyotes
BLK: tbinta, myrtle, Cooper2009
TOV: hoopmom, Cooper2009, myrtle

Let the games begin!!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
