I just don't think Cal is top 25 material. Manhattan is really not a very good team (ranked 388th by Massey, who predicted a 79-44 Cal victory). Cal only led 47-40 at the half and with 2 minutes left in the game, they only lead by 13, 78-65. |
The real story is Kristine Anigwe scores only 3 points while Asha Thomas hits 9 3's. Tomorrow they play Missouri and we wil get a read on them.

Roar, Lion, Roar -- against Arizona State.
Unfortunately, Columbia is a one woman gang, the Wooden-shoulda-been Camille Zimmerman. |

Despite a 4th quarter surge, JMU lost to Villanova, 60-57. Too bad, as this was a grudge match stemming from last year's loss in the third round of the WNIT. However, it does show that the Dukes can come back as they'd been down as much as 12. Lexie Barrier still looking for her lost shot.....

In the TD Bank Classic in Vermont (played as a homecoming for senior Hailee Barron), JMU came out mad after their loss to Villanova. They trailed slightly and briefly after their first half, then came storming back and stomped all over Vermont to win, 68-56. Hailee showed out for her home fans with back-to-back 3 pointers and Kelly Koshuta had a career high with 26 points. Kamiah Smalls had a double-double. Lexie Barrier had 8 but is STILL looking for her shot as she shot a miserable 25%.

She's Columbia's GOAT, was the All-Met POY last season, and led the Ivy League in seven statistical categories.
Making a half court shot:

I'm going to try to see her later this season. I haven't been back on campus in decades. Gotta have uber-gooey pizza at V&T, where I once sat with Art Garfunkel, who still says it's his favorite pizza.
Look forward to a report. |
