I believe he did have ONE source from the WNBA. It's the one who is a "contributing editor" to his website. Since this editor is involved in two of the trades, it's pretty obvious this editor wants to be traded from Chicago.

It is hard to say which is the dumbest suggestion. Obviously the writer has a death wish for the Storm. But based on history there is one deal that could happen, with just a small tweak. I can see it now. The Liberty acquire Colson for a draft pick, but a second isn't enough. And so for the second time in history New York trades to get a Sydney for what turns out to be the number one overall pick in the draft.

K. Davis for Boyette, could be a decent trade and help both teams.

Sure, that makes the 2018 pick a lottery pick right now, but as one WNBA evaluator put it, “the point is, they don’t want to be in the lottery.”

The guy uses such weird labels for his sources. What the heck is a "WNBA evaluator?" I mean, all of us on this board could be called that. The guy is a writer, not a reporter. He is very careful with his language to the point where I feel he is trying to lead us to a certain conclusion that is not quite reality. His hatchet piece on Kelsey Plum used as its main source a "person familiar with Plum's thinking" which could be someone who has never met her but who has advised draft picks in the past. I know he was in Seattle and that he talked to people but I doubt many gave him anything special knowing his reputation for clickbait articles.

So you basically "believe" based on zero data and spin it into a whole theory? You're as bad as Megdal. And that's really the problem with this article: it's misleading. Billed as WNBA trade "rumors" it's really just one guy's speculation based on some disjointed conversations. No one in the WNBA would suggest Cappie to Phoenix. And that Loyd-for-Plum was an old one from pre-draft. No one competent would have mentioned it this weekend given that their actual starting SG had just won the 3-point shooting contest. What, you going to have Loyd come off the bench for the Sky? And with Plum coming off the bench and only now looking decent, trading her for either Boyette/'18 pick or Loyd would be completely stupid.

The Storm, at least, will surely stand pat. Swords wasn't playing because she was having trouble picking up the scheme. She's finally starting to look decent with it and they're not going to make the playoffs by trading her and starting over. And the Sky are playing very well with what they have, too, so why would they send Boyette away when she's finally found a niche? I could see them trying to get some value for Cappie but that's about it.

But they tell you, some random fan, everything. Rolling Eyes I'm sure he talked to the same high-level WNBA people you do for his sources: The popcorn vendor, the janitor, and the guys who hand out the programs Laughing

Not even original, since that's Alan Barcoff's statement as he tries to bully down others. And, completely off topic as I never said anything about my access to players. Don't know why your personal obsession with me continues but it's aggravating.

Megdal has previously had his credentials revoked. (google it up) He is not using his sources, some of his stories are made up that he's trying to create something out of nothing.

It says that he lost his credentials with the New York Mets. Also that he wrote an eBook critical of the financial state of the Mets, some or all of which the Mets deny. But we don't know if he made it all up or had no sources.

Given that I've been for Colson for a while for the 2...I wouldn't be laughing so much.

The rest of the article...yeah.

Tho I'm going to agree with Shades...The Prominence of Boyette tells me that yes Boyette doesn't like Chicago much

Tho the move to Wintrust arena may help.

Here's my deal. Boyette to the Dream, her husband to the Falcons, her brother to the Hawks. One big happy family. I'll give up some good Falcons and Hawks players to make it happen since I don't care that much about them.

My five crazy trades, PS couldn't open the article so if I repeat any of its crazy trades my bad. These aren't very serious and I'm trying to go big with most of them so I won't over re-act if anyone hates on them.

1. M. Jefferson and SA 2nd round pick in 18 (#13) to Seattle for Seattle's first round pick (#3-6) in 18 and Langhorne

MoJeff becomes the heir apparent to Bird (who I think might retire next year) and reunites with Stewy, SA solves the Plum/Jefferson back-court problem, gets a nice vet post in Langhorn to mentor the young ones and maybe two lottery picks in 18 (Wilson with their own pick Deshields with Seattle's or someone like Billings/Canada or Nared if Seattle can fight their way to the low end of the playoffs). Seattle might need to get some additional bigs but maybe can pull one at #13 or in free agency.

2. Chicago's first round pick in 18 (#2-6) and Breland for C. Ogwumike

Ok yes huge risk for Chicago but if it pays off and C. Ogwumike gets healthy in the off season Chicago gets an experienced all-star level player who will be better than their lottery pick and or Breland and will fit great with Sloot/Quigly/Young and Dolson in the starting line up. Conn might not need Ogwumike anymore and could get G. Williams to add to there stable of young talent, and a nice post to come off the bench in Breland.

3. Boyette for Stokes and NY's second round pick in 18 (#17-20)

OK I'm probably paying low for Boyette because I'm a homer but she is being under used in Chicago IMO so Chicago can't value her too much. PS I really like Stokes so I might think she is better than she is. Stokes made a career at Uconn backing up Dolson the second round pick in a deep draft can probably replace Epps or Harris on the Sky's roster. Laimbeer could work wonder with Boyette IMO, he got a lot of Braxton, Swords and Feenstra, so I'm sure he could maximize Imani's potential.

4. E. Messeman to Atlanta for T. Hayes

Emma in Atl might seems strange but she can basically do everything Lyttle does but much better and if Angel returns and Atl moves Sykes into the starting spot Messeman can go about her game quietly and a front-court of Messeman and E. Will seems like a perfect fit alongside each other and those two scorers with Clarendon setting it up and Holmes and Dantas as the super subs. EDD can stay at her strongest position in Washington at PF with K. Thomas at C. Hayes/Toliver and and Hill at the 1/2/3 it will be pretty hard to double Elena and with Latta/Cloud and TRP on the bench with Hawkins The Mystics will be pretty unstoppable they just need one more banger to come off the bench in the post.

5. D. Bonner to Indy for S. Johnson and E. Larkins

Indy gets a starting level 3 to play with January/Mitchell/Wheeler/Dupree and the center they draft late in the lottery (Turner or Russell) and/or Achonwa. PX gets the kind of Veteran help a team needs on the bench to go for a Ship in the Taurasi/Griner window.

As long as Thibault is running the team, Emma is not getting traded. Mystics also already have a logjam in the backcourt. And as good as Hayes is, she doesn't have enough value to get Emma 1for1.
