It's all speculation based on Tina's tweets, indiscreet as they may be. Nothing is official or even truly public yet. The Sparks needed a Lisa replacement for a long time. and Tina has been expressive of her discontent in Sun-land.

So the real question remains - why all the discontent in Sun-land? Might be wiser to address that problem, whatever the cause might be. (After all - there are two other players who seem to feel the same way.)

Shockingly, many players don't like spending their summer out in the middle of nowhere with the only entertainment being a casino where they're not allowed to gamble.

They didn't mind as much when Thibault was coaching.

Connect the dots ...

Except they did. Or was all of the those players leaving somehow Anne Donovan's fault too?

If it has anything to do with current coaching then I would say Tina is gone as AD probably has at least 1 more year

So just out of curiousity - does the Sun Casino have betting on WNBA games? (Hard to imagine many people would be betting on games in the W anyway, but inquiring minds want to know.)

They don't have a sports book. That's why they're allowed to have a team.

Charles for Parker? This doesnt sound unrealistic... AND Gruda would more than likely come over if her pal CP is on the Sun as well.

It sounds kind of unrealistic to me. Unless there's stuff we don't know about like a huge desire on CP's part to leave her lively Venice digs and all that LA has to offer for a team in the middle of nowhere, or a casino, which is kind of like the same thing, and go to a franchise in disarray.

But I can't imagine that or a Los Angeles franchise trading the league's most beautiful superstar for someone who is perfectly lovely but not the league's most beautiful superstar or maybe even a superstar at all. Somebody in the LA organization would have to be ultra-pissed off at Candace. Like Walter White pissed off. Laughing

Maybe a 3 way trade Charles to LA Parker to Chicago and Sly to the sun?

I love crazy speculation, but LA trading Parker is just way too cray cray.

The Sky already have a Parker-like player in Delle Donne (except she can hit a three). Why give up your center?

I think the main appeal to Charles going to Sparks is playing with Parker. Why she wouldn't want to play with Maya if it's about chasing a Championship, I have no clue.

Does Charles remind anyone of Anosike? (except for talent level)
* They're both buddies with Parker
* They both have big mouths on twitter
* They both (apparently) get out of their RFA to play with Parker

Will the rest of the story follow suit? Stay tuned to find out... #LAMalcontents

Apparently Harding & Toliver are Charles' teammates in Dynamo Moscow.
Any chance she's just living with one of them before the offseason starts?

Of course, she has made no effort to alleviate the confusion caused by her tweet.

People wanted out all the time when he was coaching. The whole core of the 2004-05 team that made back-to-back finals either demanded a trade or quit the WNBA altogether. McWilliams, Whalen, Sales, Douglas, and Dydek were the starters in 2005 and every one of them either "retired" prematurely or was traded away at their own request.

This is not accurate in Whalen's case...

MVP for MVP? Brilliant! Of course, Sparks fans will think it's lopsided. Smile

I thought of this too, and would be very interested in seeing how the Tina/Nneka frontcourt would work....a rejuvenated TC with an already energetic self starting Nneka? wow. Shocked

but, toler will not trade her cash cow.

I will speak for the LA owners and probably 99.9% of the fans - no freaking way would they trade Parker for Tina, or for anyone else on that Sun's roster. There is speculation and then there is just plan fantasy from folks. Parker is the face of the LA franchise until her skills diminish (at which point she will probably retire voluntarily anyway). LA needs to put complementary talent around her (and give her a better coach) that can help her bring a 'ship to LA.

LA generally can't hit the broad side of a barnyard without Toliver in the backcourt. They would be FOOLISH (beyond Foolish) to trade as close of a pure shooter as they have currently or can get on the market. LA ain't going nowhere if all teams have to do is stack the box against Parker and Charles and not worry about their one-handed bandits with limited shooting range point guard and wing, or otherwise known as the Dukies (both of whom I really like by the way but not as shooters or particularly effective offensive players at all really).

I assume this doesn't prevent trade discussions.

Why are the Fever trading Briann January, and why does that trade have to go through first?

Isn't Charles the face of the Sun franchise? The MVP usually is.

You recognize Toliver as one of the "complementary" players the Sparks need to win a Championship. How do you consider Harding, Beard, and Ogwumike as "not good enough" to help win a Championship? Maybe they need a little better bench, but I'd say they have the talent to win a Championship...probably just not the chemistry or heart. Does the fault lie with the coach, maybe. But who else is out there that can handle all these personalities?

No players traded before January (the name of an IND player).
