I think Washington, Minnesota and Tulsa rocked their picks
NY getting Sims at 4 was the biggest steal of the draft (my other picks are questionable but I like them.)
And everyone else improved their teams.
LA and PX picked very well for not having a 1st rounder.
I think everyone from 1-15 who shows up and is healthy makes a roster and after 15 it is a crap shoot anyway.

Laimbeer is being unusually sweet. Must have been that #4 pick.

Latta/McKenith
Lawson/TRP/Hill
Currie/Walker
Langhorne/Musseman/Howard
Vaughn/Hollingsworth

In retrospect, maybe I could have picked Shoni at 6. TRP could have backed up Currie. Veteran Lawson could have calmed Shoni and helped her mature, as she started to pass the torch. Shoni could have battled in the 2 and 1 since Taylor is out for the season I believe. So, it would have looked more like:

Latta/McKenith
Lawson/Schimmel/(Hill)
Currie/TRP/Walker
Langhorne/Musseman
Vaughn/Hollingsworth/Snow

* I guess someone can get cut if Hill comes back mid-season like they did when Quanitra came back late!

According to a season ticket holder, Snow is gone.

Oh, if that's the case, Lynx should offer Dantas to Atlanta, if they want any more Brazillians, in an effort to move up to pick #8. Twisted Evil Very Happy

Thanks Bill! You did quite well yourself with Sims at #4. How many steak and lobster dinners did you have with Fred & Dan over drinks to pull that off!

Nice thinking if you believe that'll work (maybe package in Harris to sweeten the pot). Who would the Lynx want at #8?

So, then Peters stays and battles with Walker for the 12th spot until Hill's return.

To make sure they can get Achonwa or whoever, in case they'll be gone at #12. Smile

Oh brother.... You know, you can check back early in the mock draft thread. I was probably higher on Achonwa than most and I had her rated #10-#12 and was hoping she would be available to the Lynx at #12 when she was HEALTHY. But now it seems she's worth more with an ACL than she was healthy.
4 knocks on Achonwa that should keep her from the first round:
* Even if she doesn't run into complications, it'll probably be two years until she is near 100%.
* Her college team seems to be a bigger monster without her.
* She may have those annoying national team conflicts with the WNBA.
* She's awfully slender for a WNBA post player, and not strong-slender.

And that's why I added in "whoever".

After one game? Come on now. Surely you didn't miss those on/off court splits ESPN was showing.

If the dream are gonna draft an injured player I'd prefer it be Achonwa. No thank you to Gray. I think Achonwa when healthy will be a pretty decent player.

Gray healthy will be an ALL-STAR...hands down!!! Anchonwa healthy will be good...I will take the All-Star with no problem ESPECIALLY since Duremic is no Spring chicken and we will eventually need a starting PG!!! Also Anchonwa is guaranteed to miss the WHOLE season and Gray is not.

I like the ATL picks in this draft, hopefully it comes true!!!!

Would you want her so much as to take her at #8? Keep in mind that ATL is in "Win a Championship NOW" mode. If they weren't, Fred Williams would still be with them. If it were my job at stake, I wouldn't take any players that wouldn't contribute to a Championship in ATL this year with one of my higher picks.

Yeap I sure would still take her. At the end of the day. Sancho has to stay healthy for us this year.

Lol Gray won't be anywhere near the all-star game unless she's in the stands watching. Whether Achonwa misses the whole season or not doesn't change the fact she's a better player than Gray.

Laughing I've been pondering that lately...this has got to be Laimbeer's favorite comedy site.

Indiana/Randy:

Keena Mays, 5’7, G, SMU
Dara Taylor, 5’8, G, Penn State

Seattle/Hangtyme24:
Alicia DeVaughn, 6’4, C, Maryland

Why is lynxmania being allowed to steal my invitee? Was I over the roster limit? I know Pokey's gotta be over the limit with her 3 invitees.

quit harassing me! I just have 16 unless you count Campbell and I don't even want to see her face in camp. Plus someone is bound to be late to camp. Is Swords even healthy enough to play. Nobody tells me anything around here. Twisted Evil

I really enjoyed watching this draft.

I think Shades hit the nail squarely on the head here. I think Gray is very good player, but with her history of knee problems I would not invest a #8...#18 would be ok if she is still there. As I recall, the Lynx drafted an injured player, but they were a much deeper team.
