Thiebault claiming greene makes sense

If the libs are keeping Williams im furious not that McKinney was anything but why waste a roster spot...makes no sense...perhaps someone is getting signed but dont like ke going to either 11 or 11 plus 1 hoping for a pickup and I hope braxton knows she is bottom of the food chain.

Sky should pick up Gilbreath. I wonder who the Storm will pick up. And I'm still expecting someone to bring in Houston.

Cause their bench sucks and she might be better than Clements and Ellenberg.

That's not exactly an endorsement. Our bench would still suck regardless..

With the situation with Sylvia Fowles and Pip, it is so important to improve Sky's bench. It is not very good the way it is right now.

Exclamation OK ONLY A FEW HOURS LEFT UNTIL THE DEADLINE AND THE MYSTICS HAVE WORK TO DO ALSO THE SUN AND SAN ANTONIO. ATLANTA AND CHICAGO MIGHT SUSPEND DUMERC AND PRINCE UNTIL THEY RETURN IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH. HARD TO TELL WHO GETS CUT ESPECIALLY FROM THE MYSTICS WHO NEED TO CUT ABOUT 4.

Coach "T" is usually waits until the very end to report his final cuts.

Perhaps an announcement of the move/change is in order. Idea

So when we're talking about fungible players, as almost all the cuts are, it makes much, much more sense to keep the mediocre player who's been in camp for two weeks than to bring another mediocre player who doesn't know the system. There is limited practice time once the season begins, so in terms of getting a player up to speed, training camp is the time to do it.

And that's why Kalana Greene to Washington will work -- she knows Thibault's system. But why bring in Briana Gilbreath for Courtney Clements (to pick two names)? They're both limited and if either plays for any extended minutes, you're in big trouble, but at least Clements knows the plays and should understand the basics of the system.

Here's a very simple example: Some coaches force baseline; some force middle. If a player has been in camp for two weeks, she's got that down, and she's not going to make a dumb mistake on where to force during a game.

Here's another: How to play the pick-and-roll is a crucial part of the game. Some coaches teach hedging different than others; some coaches try to fight through certain kinds of screens while switching others. None of this is advanced calculus, but it's still stuff that has be taught and learned -- and as we all know, part of the learning process is making mistakes.

But while you're kinda trying to win games in May, because you've got to at least win a few in the regular season, you're mostly trying to win games in August and September. And by then, any player you bring in now-ish ought to be able to run your system just as well as one from camp, even with limited practice time. That's why you'd drop Clements for Gilbreath, if you think Gilbreath can help you more down the line.

...or if you have one pg and 5 wings you might consider dropping a fungible wing for a fungible PG. but you're right that the waiver wire rarely gets used on the receiving end.

And certainly when the player that you want to bring is a lot better defender then the one you are replacing

Wasn't Turner waived a while ago?

I'm guessing that since I haven't heard anything about Leuchanka showing up, the Sun don't need to make a cut until she makes it to Uncasville?

Unless there's another reason.
