Your double negative made me think of former MVC coaches who HAVE done well at their P5 schools. This year’s tournament featured three that I can think of off of the top of my head: Lisa Bluder, Teri Moren and Kelly Harper.

I checked St. Francis PA website this morning and they list no ACs on roster or staff directory. I saw they had a job posting which made me look into it. I was looking to see who left bc of posting and came to find out they had no ACs. Not new coach, Whittington just finished her 2nd season.

If you want to hire a someone with no head coaching experience, it's hard to imagine a better candidate. I assumed she was the coach-in-waiting at UConn, but maybe this is a way to get some HC experience before coming back?
There's not a great track record for UConn assistants as head coaches, but if I was a betting man, I would bet on Ralph.

____x1 I am not a particular fan of Ralph, but I see the value of this hire. She knows recruiting from the inside out, I think, and also has seen good coaching and been part of it. Hopefully she can do what Steph White did not. Good luck to her!

I still think this is the case. Whatever happens, I don't want Rizzotti anywhere near the UCONN HC job.
If not Shea, I want the next UCONN HC to be Courtney Banghart.

Yes, there have been successes from MVC to a Big 5 power conference, but those coaches have done it more than 2-3 years ago when there was not so much parity and as well as the transfer pool now.
Bludder had coached in the state of Iowa before going to U of Iowa and was from Iowa, which certainly helped her out, as well as being a very good coach at every stop she has made along the way!
The Drake coach has NO ties to Oklahoma! But since the program has fallen on such hard times, she can only go up in that job. The skies the limit for her and the team.
Gail G found it VERY difficult to succeed in the Big 12 at Texas, when she left Duke... and she had been one of the most successful coaches at Duke and on the national stage.
Players are looking for coaches who have BIG ties to the WNBA as well and can get them to that level and/or sign a bug contract to a foreign team... as well as make a USA national team. Drake's coach brings none of that to Oklahoma.

There's a tweet which opines that a big and a wing will follow Ralph to Vandy.
To add to the conjecture: if it's ONO, that would explain the Juhasz signing and perhaps Geno's pointed remarks re: Ono's senior year at UConn. |
I saw that about a big and wing.
It would certainly be rude for Ralph to poach a UConn starter on her way out the door, presumably with a rave review recommendation to Vanderbilt from Geno. So, I doubt that Ralph would leave with ONO or Edwards.
I could see something like that happening with Piath Gabriel, who is unlikely ever to get serious game-time developmental minutes at NC contender UConn, and who Geno might be willing to send along with Ralph to help her out with some initial players (assuming Gabriel likes the idea).
A wing -- who's a disgruntled wing? McLean is probably frustrated but can hardly be called a wing at this point with no outside shot. Poffenbarger? Chassion?
Or the whole thing is just a wild rumor, for which I should continue my lifelong antipathy for Twitter. |

If Brooks is leaving Michigan, that's 2 assistant positions that KBA has to fill.

That is not necessarily poaching. Sometimes a player is just closer to an assistant than to the HC. It happens. Or it could be someone who's not happy about the advent of Ms. Juhasz.

I assume her husband, Tom Garrick, current head coach at UMass-Lowell will probably be joining her in Nashville as an assistant or associate head coach. I haven't seen that stated anywhere but that would seem to make sense.

Yeah assuming this as well. I would hope UMass Lowell would have announcement soon.

Some are saying that Coach Ralph should pull in Jasmine Lister as an assistant but Lister has been MIA since leaving UCONN.
I wonder if Ashley Williams will leave the Penn State program and return to her Alma mater to coach.
Or Tamika Williams-Jeter.
Would GG sign on as an assistant at Vandy?

I know things at George Washington didn't go well for Rizzotti, but she did a pretty good job at Hartford for a number of years. So why so adamant?
I'm curious is all. |

Congrats to Brian Holsinger. Great coach and recruiter for Scott Rueck at OSU.

Mark Campbell interviewed at Washington, Montana, Vandy and maybe some others. Very surprising to see him come up empty.
