Heh. I hate the Lynx (read: Maya Moore) so much, that I can't even bring myself to watch because, in the back of my mind, I just know that Minnesota's going to come back somehow.

really? Moore is one of the more imminently likeable players in the league.

Agreed. I don't hate Moore, unless she's playing Atlanta, because she's a great player. Now Reeve though, her antics I'm not a fan of haha.

LOL, I'm willing to bet that, outside of the WNBA as a general thing that exists, you and I probably don't like too many of the same things.

I'm glad Collen has been sticking with McGee-Stafford a little more. She's needed to defend Fowles' length.

Storm and Dream definitely look like they'll be the #1 & #2 seeds for the playoffs.

Atlanta still has a huge tiebreaker game against Los Angeles this week.

hmmm, no idea about that. Some of what I like about Moore is:
she's a very, very good player;
she's a superstar who rarely whines about calls;
she always seems humble in spite of all her accomplishments;
she doesn't showboat;
she doesn't publicly complain about teammates;
she doesn't act exasperated when teammates make a mistake;
she's a player that any (I guess almost any) fan could love to have on your team!

So which of these things do you not like?
Really my only complaint about her is that she traditionally does get a lot of superstar calls...but not sure I can blame her for that since it's the refs that blow or don't blow their whistles.

Andy (?) Demetra and LaChina Robinson were saying that they thought Bentley broke out of her shooting slump against Chicago. That appears to have indeed been the case.

Yeah, see, so I don't consider either one of those things in red to be likable, and the rest of that stuff, aside from being a great player, I can take it or leave it. If anything, I find humility from professional athletes to be a very annoying trait. I much prefer athletes who are bombastic and demonstrative, and I especially like athletes who are arrogant.

Well Silky, it turns out you and I have far more in common than I realized. I had to turn over to the Sparks game with about 5 minutes left because I knew that like Dracula, the Lynx would come back to life. I did tune back in before long though.

On other hand, I have no great antipathy for Moore. I only despise Whalen, Augustus, Fowles, Brunson and Reeve.

BTW - Reeve is getting a lot better at taking losses. She used always throw her jacket off and get a T when she was worried about the outcome of a game. Now she is so stoic.

I prefer jacket-tossing Reeve, but I think she's great either way.
And I love me some Brunson too. As a general rule I don't much like the Lynx, but Brunson is probably my biggest exception.

And, see, that's another thing: I, of course, don't hate Brunson because, #MFFL... Which makes me hate Moore that much more: I can't even be happy for Brunson (or the Lynx, whom I otherwise would kinda like), because that's how much I hate Moore.

That's because she knows and has publically acknowledged that her team is not as dominant as they used to be.

Dream now 13-0 when leading after three quarters

That was the thing that used to drive me crazy about the Dream - no lead was ever safe. I think that's due to Collen for sure.

BTW - who ever thought there would be a day when 2nd round Hayes, not No. 1 picks Moore or Angel for that matter was the brightest star of not just one game but an entire month.

so then why despise Whalen? She fits these qualities that you like?

Which is why I don't like her. I guess I'll be getting waived from team hate hard pretty quickly.

Just as I thought when it happened—Renee Montgomery was smart and decided this offseason she'd rather play for a championship contender led by a UConn superstar instead of the Minnesota Lynx. Smile

I don't despise Whalen, I despise the Lynx, because of Moore. Before 2011, I liked Whalen plenty. Hell, she was my second-favorite point guard, after Ticha.
