LMAO this thread is ridiculous

Tina would not go anywhere till she knows what is happening next year and of course she will be a free agent at the end of the year

If Dolan wants to sell the team ...then you dont trade Tina

Megdal occasionally writes the outrageous.

Not that she’d come to Seattle, but there is no one in our top 5 I’d want to give up for her, well Clark lol but I know that wouldn’t happen. Liberty has never gotten close to a ‘ship since the game against the Comets 💫

Wouldn’t being all hardcore about 2019 season only halfway through the 2018 be classified as “silly stuff”? There’s plenty of time for 2019.

Megdal seems full of baloney at times, but he was on target with EDD to DC, and Boucek getting canned for that matter. He seems to have some connections with a few teams at least and DC seems like one of them.

NY fans like over reacting and talking about the future is a nice distraction from the grimness of the present.

I'm almost surprised it took this long for this topic to arise.

Do you really want to see Cambage be the 3rd scoring option in Dallas? Laughing

Charles has been top 3 in the league in field goal attempts ever season except her rookie year, and she's been #1 for 3 years in a row. Somehow I don't see that happening Razz

I really can't speak about what happened with Tina Charles before she came to the Liberty. Since she's been here, though, she's been nothing short of awesome. There are no signs of her being a malcontent that I can see. She has shouldered the load of being the lone superstar of the team for the whole time she's been in New York.

There's nothing to justify calling her ancient, either. She is still playing at a very high level, and if her numbers are down this year, the blame is almost squarely on the shoulders of her teammates who do nothing to take the pressure off her offensively. She's being overplayed like never before.

There is no doubt in my mind that Tina would be a valuable addition to any team that acquired her.

The whole team is in exile. Tina is the only one with a Get out of Elba free card.

yeah, I agree it's the whole team and none of them has deserved what happened here. What really rubbed me the wrong way was that just because she's the best player, he makes it sound like she's the only one affected. As far as I can tell Dolan just shat on the whole team.

And BTW, even though I hate the demanding a trade thing, I have come to appreciate Tina for all the charity she does, which is really great to see.

I really feel bad for the Liberty players too. Being moved from one of the most prestigious arenas in all of sports (and all that surrounds it) to the worst venue in the WNBA out in the suburbs has got to be incredibly deflating. From what I've seen in the attendance thread, the average WNBA crowd is bigger than the WCC's max capacity.

Previously, being on the Liberty was a dream come true for a lot of players, Tina included, for a lot of reasons. None of those reasons are in play any more. Hopefully in Tina's case, the fact that it's still her home area will be enough to make her want to stay.

While I'm normally opposed to municipalities spending tax dollars on venues for sports teams, there really is a need for a building in New York City that holds something like 7,000 to 12,000 people for basketball and concert events that suit a building that size.
